Theresa May Apologizes For Leaked Memo

It was the Queen who I was most impressed with!

Or, in the Queen’s English, “It was the Queen with whom I was most impressed!”.

It was a pretty mild memo, considering the actual situation. I do admire English Understatement.

Trump (tweets) like a squabbling 9 year old girl. He treats international diplomacy like he’s playing a card game with no rules. He is a petty, spiteful little man.

One problem with the second cartoon - giving the UK Ambassador a piece of his mind implies that trump still has one.

I’m curious to know who leaked this - with party elections for the next Prime Minister coming up, who would benefit the most from making May look bad? Boris Johnson?

…and then there is POTUS…‘I could SAY THINGS but…’ He is SUCH a fking two year old.

Is she looking for a job over here?

Did she phrase it in the universal mode of non-apology apologies, that she “regretted” if anyone was upset by the ambassador’s words, that were not intended for public release (but which she would not renounce because she knew them to be massively and self-evidently true)?

I.e. sorry if I hurt your feelings for calling you a moron, you moron!

The Brits are rather good at understated insult, and Trump it too stupid to see it.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

Seriously, the woman shames the UK by providing a state visit for the Rapist, who repays the favor by calling her an incompetent fool.

I’m sure Ms. Windsor loves basking in Trump’s reflected glory.

Yep, sure noticed that. Looked specifically for it, not a word (at least in the article) regretting what was said, just that it was made public.

Ah yes, that.

We’re not big fans of that man (Darroch) and he has not served the UK well. … I can say things about him, but I won’t bother,” the President said Sunday.

But

Trump continued his swipes at Darroch on Monday afternoon,

He couldn’t even “not bother” for 24 feckin’ hours.

Oh, even better – as @castor_troy reminds us, she didn’t apologize at all for the content, just for the fact that it was leaked.

Proving once again: Not all leaked documents are created equal. Much less treated so.

Here’s an interesting article from The Daily Telegraph about Prince Charles and his tailors. Apparently, the suit he wore for Harry & Megan’s wedding, he first wore in 1984.

It is with deep regret, my dear hopefully also soon to be former world leader, with which I inform you that you are without a scintilla of doubt the bigliest imbecile the civilized world has ever seen, and I hope this doesn’t upset you too bigly or cause you to react with a massive twitterstorm meltdown.

May they both ride off into the sunset on the horse’s asses they both are. Or something.

Seems the regret was for the leak, not the assessment.

Ah, you beat me to it by a day. Right on.
