Originally published at: The Version of the SAVE Act That Trump Wants Passed Doesn’t Even Have the Votes in the House
‘Going to Do Everything I Can’ Politico has a new piece out today reporting on a quiet, but apparently universally known, concern among Republicans in Congress: that the mail-in voting restrictions that President Trump is attempting to bully everyone into passing ahead of the midterms do not even have the votes they need in the…
I know it is cheap and tacky to talk about someone’s appearance, but as time passes Donnie is looking more and more like a pig, both in his countenance and his body form. Oh, and in his decisions too, he is acting like a pig!
According to a memo sent to all field offices and reviewed by CBS News, the Directorate of Intelligence requested “surge support” to Atlanta to assist in what it called FBI Director Kash Patel’s “priority” investigation.
Now with Surge Support™!
‘Inadvertent discovery disclosure’: Trump admin accidentally releases Jack Smith’s Mar-a-Lago report
I just read this. Is it true? Is it horseshit? If it is real, everybody in the country should spend the upcoming holiday weekend reading it.
It lights up the Google search with many news orgs reporting.
Does anyone know how many versions of the SAVE Act has been passed and/or tried to pass in the house? They keep on putting it to the floor for a vote, but I thought they did pass one version back in February and sent it to the Senate where it just sits and ferments.
If I understand the latest news - CF keeps on changing what he wants in it.
The supposed celebration on the national mall is going to be empty in the next two days. Is he still going to talk for hours on Saturday (with no audience except maybe his boot lickers) just to show he can do anything? Or will he have a major tantrum?
"if we go back to when we implemented voter ID in North Carolina, it took a year to get everything in place with adequate funding.”
So, Republicans in the federal government are pushing all states to accept unfunded mandates.
Republicans tax and steal.
I guess one of the few benefits of generative AI is that real life photo models trying to make a living and preserve their dignity don’t have to pose for this kind of ad any more. Just use AI.
They sent it to a lawyer defending someone who had downloaded the report illegally and is currently in trial.
Nicolle Wallace interviewed Smith today (Thursday) for an hour. Nothing was said about anything new being released.
OR TRAVEL!
I chortled when I read the travel exception. Can’t wait to adjudicate a trip to visit my daughter in LA on election day. Yes, it was legitimate travel. Can you prove I didn’t drive there? You’ll have to pry my mail-in ballot from my cold, dead hands, you orange, stroopwafel-skinned donkey buttock.
Let’s not badmouth pigs. Back in the day, 4H project was a Hampshire sow who went by the name Dirty Daisy. We shouldn’t have made her a pet, but did so. She was very intelligent, and loved to play. A favorite game at feeding time consisted of my little brother hauling a 5 gallon bucket of mixed milk and barley to her feeding trough. She would have pushed the latter to the end of her run, about 20 yards from the gate. My job was to distract her long enough for little brother to run the length of the area and pour her food into her trough before she could catch up with him. She played along til he got about half way, and then would gallop to catch up and, with her snout, lift the bucket so that all the contents would spill all over little brother, which made him curse her and me both. He would go crying back to the house. In no way on God’s earth is Trump anything like a pig. He’s not smart enough, good looking enough, and is in no way possessed of good humor.
So Mitch McConnell had a heart attack and is “recovering” at home. Supposedly at 84 going to finish out his term to January. Hmmm…. we’ll see.
At the very least, he likely won’t be around to vote much. If at all.
Carmen Mercedes Lineberger, a former prosecutor is accused of stealing the Jack Smith’s sealed Volume II report by emailing it to her personnel acount.
The remaining lawyers in the Florida DOJ (those that have not been fired or resigned rather then break the law) are so incompetent that during request for discovery evidence the DOJ mistakenly included copies of the report.
The flash drives were sent June 3, and on June 9 her (Lineberger) lawyers identified the embedded documents.
I admire their ethics to return the drives and delete downloaded copies of the report. I might have “accidently” released it.
Reacting to Trump’s recent revelation that he had talked with Theodore Roosevelt, Frederick “Amazing Job” Douglass, who had visited the White House several times under Lincoln and Trump, remarked that he is always impressed with Trump’s abilities to listen and get to the truth.
So what else is new?
Remember Real-ID? In the post 9/11 panic, “We need National ID!” GOP: Except we don’t Federal Government to do it. It might be compiled into a Data Base to take our guns. We will have the States issue the ID!
“But the mail-in ballot, he’s acknowledged, is a very difficult thing to regulate at the federal level, because different states do it differently.”
Hey Mike, Trump wants you to engineer a federal takeover of mail in voting, so the fact that “different states do it differently” is irrelevant when you command that they must all do it the same.
