1/3 of the Senate just got elected and won’t run again until Rump is long gone. Did the Republicans really run to be Rump’s rubber stamp? It goes against everything I thought I knew about Senators, which is that their egos are as big as their states and they think it is they who know what’s best.

Well, we’ll see if Hakeem Jeffries will play ball with Speaker My Johnson and pass yet another, short-term federal government funding deal. The adults in the room (the Democrats) will likely play ball, while the idiot Republicans fight among themselves and demand all kinds of cuts to services, Social Security, Medicare, etc.
AND, if the government even partially shuts down this Friday, Republicans and the public will blame . . . Biden.

On the way to drop off my car for service, I went down a street I haven’t been on since at least October. One house usually had a single Trump sign all year long. Suddenly after the election, the yard has multiple large Trump 2025 signs and other placed on crude frames and staked into the ground. No Christmas decorations, just a wall of these on the two sides of the house facing the street. This is a wealthier area, but they have been going blue for some time. The best I can figure is this is the “My Team Won” syndrome and the homeowner just has to be do an in your face to the rest of the neighborhood. It certainly feels like someone’s sport team won and had to put on a display. That is all it is to them.
Yes, when reality comes knocking, lets relax and take in the show.
