At a White House Coronavirus Task Force meeting Wednesday, President Donald Trump presented a bold — and completely false — attempt to blame former President Barack Obama for the current lack of testing capacity for coronavirus, which public health officials have said for weeks is leaving them in the dark as to the true nature of the virus’ threat.
“Before mass leaders seize the power to fit reality to their lies, their propaganda is marked by its extreme contempt for facts as such, for in their opinion fact depends entirely on the power of man who can fabricate it.” ― Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism
He was a Trumpist even before Trump was appointed to the presidency by the EC. IOW, a perfect fit.
In the early 1990s, Redfield faced accusations of scientific misconduct for misrepresenting data about an experimental HIV vaccine he was involved with. In a military investigation, he was eventually cleared of the misconduct charges but data he published about the vaccine had to be corrected, according to the New York Times.
One of the researchers who first reported Redfield’s misuse of data has been speaking out publicly after news of Redfield’s appointment emerged, Kaiser Health News reported. “Either he was egregiously sloppy with data or it was fabricated,” said former Air Force Lt. Col. Craig Hendrix, who is now based at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. “It was somewhere on that spectrum, both of which were serious and raised questions about his trustworthiness.”
A devout Catholic, Redfield also sits on the board of the Children’s Aid Fund, which was started by evangelical Christians and has championed abstinence-only education for HIV prevention “and other non-evidence-based approaches based on religious belief rather than science,” said Gregg Gonsalves, an associate professor at Yale Law School and former HIV/AIDS activist.
He was pre-wraithed before Trump picked him. He is not to be taken seriously. He has a Dr. before his name, but so does Dr. Faustus
Everything is some one else’s fault. EVERYTHING! Someone posted a joke about Trump and Barr in a room together and when Trump farts he blames Barr. I’m sure this is spot on.
And real people are repeating these lies. Just heard a guy in a NYC elevator telling his pal that all would be well once the “regulations on testing” would be lifted.
The reason it didn’t make sense, Sachs and others say, is that Obama didn’t implement the rules in question. Rather, it’s a George W. Bush-era law that dates back to the anthrax scare of the early aughts, as Missouri School of Law professor Erika Lietzan wrote in the blog Objective Intent.

So much incompetence in this Trump Regime…
Misspells Covid-19 = CARONAVIRUS
Then blames Obama for GWB laws…
They can’t even get their LIES correct
So how do expect them to handle this pandemic?
= BADLY
= SAD
Wait, Trump lied to try to make himself look better? And the truth came out a few days later? Really? That’s a shocking turn of events, I just can’t believe that a president can do something like that and get away with it! I’m sure the conservatives will be along any minute to…oh, he’s a Republican? Never mind then.
Could the case be made that the reason we’re in this FUBAR zone is that Trump dumped those who were in the know on how things work, and where the binder is for handling pandemics?
“It seems like there’s been a lot of disorganization and lack of coordination on the federal level for quite some time,” she added.
Seems? I am not bickering over what Sachs said. She is just way too polite.
By the way - this audio would make a great addition to campaign advertisement as a reminder to the voting public that a lumbering dolt pretends to know what the hell is going on.
Reality check. Clinical laboratory tests have to be validated and approved (by the FDA) because diagnoses and treatment are often based on the results of those tests. If a locally developed test gives a false positive or false negative result, patients could suffer or even die. And contrary to what seems to be popular belief, a lot goes into development of a clinical assay. Reagents and procedures have to be precise and accurate and the tests have to be reproducible. Too much depends on it to be otherwise.
