What?!? The Coast Guard was supposed to go 900 miles to the suspected site of the sub as soon as it lost contact with its support ship? What a noodle-head. I thought republicans were all for less regulation and pro-entrepreneurship and small government.

I told my husband that the Supreme Court justices should just put their sponsor’s decals on their robes, just like the NASCAR drivers, so that we can keep a better track of their grifting.

Another great political cartoon:

We all know Trump is lying through his teeth. No one is contacting him except Kari Lake, looking for a new job.

Is that a horse reenacting that scene from the Shining where Nicholson chops through the door with the fire axe and calls out “Heeeere’s Johnny!” ?

Although they might be inclined to argue that Alito, Thomas, et al. will always vote for oligarchs, even the ones who haven’t paid them off yet. It’s what passes for a gentlemen’s agreement; the payoff will come eventually.

Regarding Santos:

Ethics might beat DOJ to the punch in terms of actual punishment, like censure or expulsion

Someeone, don’t recollect who, mentions that one of the charges against Andrew Johnson was that he gave embarrassing speeches. If a grand jury can indict a ham sandwich then the House can impeach one.

When you consider that the greatest surge in births from the baby boom occurred in 1951 then it makes sense that thirty years after that, there is going to be a lot of thirty year-old’s skewing the numbers.

And as they age they pull up the numbers.

ETA to add the last comment.

David Kurtz’s summary of the SCOTUS/FedSoc situation is spot-on.

Looking forward to digging into Lithwick’s piece later today.

I hope I live to see the Supreme Court become honest again. But I think it’s more likely the rich will keep The People incapacitated until climate change kills off most of their opponents.

No, the Coast Guard was supposed to already be on site, because…well…reasons. And they should have been able to save those billionaires in the handful of milliseconds available after the carbon fiber delamination started but before the implosion.
