if you want to see JD VANCE at his ‘core’… i watched him this morning on TV, giving a speech somewhere, i muted the volume..it was hilarious…he waved his hands and even raised his arms above his head…he was like a2 yr’old trying to tell his daddy how big the monster under his bed ,is. and this is the VP of the USA…my only defence is to laugh, other wise, i would go mad.!

Well worth a listen – Timothy Snyder (historian of tyrannies) says that we need to stop thinking that a removal of the Trump regime will allow us to just return to the status quo. Instead, he says that rather than clicking “restart,” to actualyl get the high-functioning multi-ethnic democracy that we want, we’ll need to rethink the mistakes and flaws that got us here as well as our old systems and even principles and then construct new ones that can avoid the errors. He gives a pretty clear explanation here of what he means by that.

Trump’s actions regarding the reflecting pool are a further demonstration of everything that’s wrong with him. He’s corrupt. He’s ignorant. He’s not very bright (oh all right, he’s stupid). He’s mentally unstable, and probably well into senility.
Vance, should he succeed to the Presidency courtesy of the stupidity, ignorance, and selfishness of the voters, will be more dangerous than Trump, because for all his jerkery, he’s somewhat smarter than Trump.
The San Francisco Giants were wrong to force their employees to wear symbols of something they disapprove of. If my employer forced me to wear a MAGA button or a crucifix, that would not be different. I’d tell him to go to hell. And then sue him if he fired me over the matter.
Being anti-Israel is not being antisemitic or anti-Jewish. That the Israelis have confused the two things is really their problem and should lead them to reconsider their mishmash of religion and government. The Iranians have mixed up government and religion and look where they’ve gotten to. Being anti-Iran is not being anti-Islam.

Wow. Seems that usually the Tesla autopilot kills people by mistaking a wall or a lake for a road. First time I’ve heard of it mistaking a house for one. … I guess there’s no end to the new and imaginative ways in which the thing can hallucinate.
Kind of reminds me of Elon doing Doge. Of course, Doge is killing thousands and even millions of people in one misguided go, while the Autopilot kills only a handful at a time. … It’ll have to step up its game.
