My wife and I, after all these years, binged The Sopranos over the past few weeks and finished just the other day. Hearing the governor of New Jersey’s accent during the roll call we both just looked at each other and exclaimed “Tony Soprano”!

I want to repost something I put up last night before the convention Live Blog got going.
It isn’t to highlight what we are up against, but it shows how bad Chump is blowing it with all the built-in advantages the Rs have. It jibes a little bit with Josh’s backchannel post of how wired for the GOP The Media is.
I would also echo my visualization of The Media rushing back in like a tsunami or the parted Red Sea…as soon as the Dems no longer control the live mics and cameras. It happens so rarely. Recently, our DNC conventions, Impeachment I and II hearings, J6 Committee, etc. Dems completely outshine the Rs…using only decency, honor, and truth. For those brief moments we see, unfiltered, the real deal. Then The Media, held at bay for a short time, falls back upon us and completely engulfs and swallows up the moment of reality and imposes their ‘Matrix’ again.
It shows what we are up against. It’s really the only lens available for the entire country. And it’s completely twisted and opposed to us…even The Media we think is less tainted and striving to produce a balanced product.

Chump has every single person in the R party working for him. Every single person in the RNC. Every bit of their data, all of their campaign and GOTV resources and infrastructure. He’s getting all their money. He has an entire (for-real) forcefed Cable Network (FOX), a few smaller networks, Sinclair owning TV stations, Troof and Xshitter, and all of AM radio working for him 24/7. Slavishly. Most of it for almost 9 years straight.
What’s left? Oh, just every other corporate media entity (all of them). Nearly the entire spectrum of mass hypnosis and brainwashing technologies - either cutting him serious slack, being mindlessly manipulated, or outright carrying his water.
He is breaking every campaign and financing law there is. Soliciting bribes. Outright colluding with states to interfere or defraud the voters. And peddling influence around the world openly.
He should be winning.

While we were watching the speeches, Mr.Doc noted that most people would rather have a beer with Harris and Walz than TFG and Vance. But we decided that the real question is not if we would have a beer (or iced tea, or a Diet Coke) with a candidate. The question is which candidate would like to have a beer with people like us. I can’t imagine the MAGA guys actually wanting to spend time with ordinary people.
