“The idea that our committee would purposely submit fraudulent petitions is ridiculous,” attorney Jim McKee told the paper. He added: “Every petition identifies the individual who collected it and we would encourage law enforcement to investigate any petitions of concern.”
Not so ridiculous if you’re paying folks by the number of signatures they get. And I’m sure the $49.5 doesn’t cover the cost of your bonus if you deliver enough signatures to get this on the ballot.

Classic mistake - they forgot to give the SOS a nice cut of the proceeds early in the process. Republicans do not tolerate being cut out of the action - they will get you every time.
Of course, this woman may be the most honest person in the Republican leadership in Florida.

Erika Alba is the Chair of Florida Voters in Charge. She represented DeSantis in a complaint filed by the FEC for what appears to be some very shady campaign dealings, specifically involving foreign nationals and voter suppression activities,. A complaint the FEC weirdly dismissed for very vague reasons, despite having a helluva lot of supporting evidence.

Not for something that doesn’t exist, such as forged and fake signatures. Nothing they paid for is real. Kind of over priced, actually, like paying $10 for a nothing burger.
