I really want ranked choice with more than 2 advancing. People need to be able to have protest/principle votes get noticed and have an impact. So, if the one-note candidate (e.g. billionaire wealth tax, UBI, balcony solar now!) suddenly ends up with 30% after round one - the more serious candidates have to adapt. And there is a RECORD of what voters want.
It is particularly important in effectively one party states like California. I’m still super-pissed that Schiff played games, running ads “against” the Republican in order to make sure he was running against Garvey and not Porter. The bottomless sin and fecklessness of the Republican party mean there isn’t anything to challenge the Democrat Party to be better, except the Bernie/Hilary divide which always ends up counter-productive.
There is no such thing as the “Democrat Party.”
There is, however, the “Democratic Party,” which is a fine organization to support.
The likelihood that description applies to every woman who’s ever been with him (voluntarily or not) is approaching 100%.
