The Mayor Of Salem Burns Trump With A Wicked History Lesson On Witch Trials | Talking Points Memo

Kim Driscoll (D), the mayor of Salem, Massachusetts, happens to know a thing or two about witch trials.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://talkingpointsmemo.com/?p=1269153

“The witch trials were a lesson that, if anything, is going to inform how this President will, in fact, receive a very fair trial and inquiry process,” Driscoll added.

Um, Driscoll, meet self-proclaimed “White House trial coordinator” Moscow Mitch.

Well done, Mayor Driscoll!
Not as well done as I thought when I read the first six words of the headline, but nicely done!

Trump’s got her there…He’s elderly, poor (not that he’ll let anyone see) and decidedly odd.

Three cheers for my old stomping grounds (I grew up in Beverly, which is Salem’s sister city)!!! There’s a surprising surplus of sanity in that area of MA.

Unlike the accused witches, Trump will not be subject to capital punishment, or even imprisonment, if he is “convicted” (removed from office). Trump’s sense of being persecuted is as ridiculous as everything else about him.

When I first moved to New England, I lived in Beverly, near the library on Essex st. Klinks bakery and Bells market were within walking distance. Moved away years ago, but remember those days fondly.
