I would say the kind of dereliction the Democrats did when they did not go bat shit crazy over Bush v Gore.
That is by not challenging the Supreme Court for bad decision after bad decision, it allowed , no encouraged, the bd actors on the court to get bolder and more partisan and this is where we are.

If the Supreme Court is corrupt, a part of me says why should this country follow their rulings. Its reminds me of soldiers being given orders to commit war crimes and believes they should have a legal if not moral obligation to refuse to carry out the order.

In all his interviews of the period before Election Day, he kept repeating that he never bets against the American people, and that he believed Americans had decided already (for Hillary, implied). But this doesn’t get him off the hook. Anything can happen - he knew that. Look at W. in 2000. And the process he said to trust was there for him to appoint a justice, as the Senate ignored its consent duty.

My point was simply this: democracy is on the ropes and on the line. I think we both agree on that. That we have only one choice for saving it is not evidence it’s already dead. It’s just evidence that it sometimes sucks, because it comes with the responsibility to accept practical reality and respond to it in a pragmatic manner.
But it’s better than the alternative, and we’re not there quite yet.
