They send her money. They send her a lot of money.

That’s fine. It’s not like he’s a Democrat.

I just defended it. You don’t have to agree, but “indefensible” is not a DOJ thing.

I’ve been to Texas also. Several times also. Son lives in San Marcos. The scintillating drive across west Texas on the 10 … well, what more is there to say?

I’ve been on Tik Tok all day (well, when taking writing breaks) and it’s a totally different place. For the past week it was filled with women voicing frustration that the donor class was pushing Biden out because we’d also been watching/listening to AOC saying that the donor class wanted to get rid of Harris, too.

But, as soon as Biden endorsed Harris, it was game on. The energy became jubilant at the prospect of finally having a woman president. There is a determination that 2016 won’t be repeated.

The women on Tik Tok are energized. And that was even before the Swifties entered the chat. We no longer feel disenfranchised.

Yeah, there’s a reason MAGA is terrified if this energy can continue into the election.

Sorry about that. I saw it when I posted and did an edit, but apparently it wasn’t successful.

You know how to hit GC where it hurts.

Yes. I was just thinking about how nothing ever gets done in DC from Election Day to after the Inauguration.

Well, you know, most humor contains at least a kernel of truth. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That sounds weird. The story doesn’t illuminate what is really going on…but it is a disagreement over whether they had permission. That makes me think these cops were acting politically and getting involved with Chump’s campaign instead of just providing motorcade services.

The article did say that Jill Biden’s motorcade was shorthanded because these cops were with Chump, and they had to scramble to get other MC cops from college campuses to cover her visit.

Point taken on Weiss. Appointing Bob Hur remains inexcusable and an abomination. Garland could have easily done better. You have noted the foolishness of Democrats appointing someone from the opposing party, and with Hur it reached comically absurd depths and ought to be done with.

This is the third name change, I think. They are Republicans. And it’s not the size of the PAC that matters… it’s the underlying meaning: There are Republicans, Republican Primary Voters who are unwilling to vote for Trump. The guy running the PAC was at the GOP Convention.

You and I were always going to vote for Biden, or Harris, or basically whomsoever the Democrats put forward. That’s baked in. We need swing voters. That’s how you win elections; at the margins.

“Harris might … be tempted to ride a glide path to the nomination, taking few risks,” the Post writes “She should do the opposite.”

“A clean break from Bidenism would be a mistake.”

The risk the Washington Post wants Harris to take is one most journalists would demand of their elected officials: that they submit to questioning.

“She could deliver a detailed national address and take substantive questions from journalists, hold a televised town hall to engage directly with voters and give interviews after rallies in battleground states,” the Post writes. “The goal is to emerge from vice-presidential muddiness to presidential sharpness.”

No. First rule, you don’t do what ‘The Media’ wants.
And who says she was going to make a clean break with Bidenism?
And who says she has a ‘vision’ for America that needs sketching out? Everyone knows what the Ds stand for and what HER administration was doing the last 4 years.

I don’t think putting Harris out on a high-wire in the media spotlight so they can try to knock her off is the right play. There is going to be plenty of spotlight. As I said upthread, I think a whole new approach is needed. The other party doesn’t come crawling when The Media whistles. They don’t answer any questions. They don’t have a plan or vision (at least one they want you to know about…or like P2025 they run away from as soon as it’s published). Chump doesn’t even name The Media without a sentence prefacing how they are Failing Fake News Enemy Of The People.

I don’t say our team should emulate the Rs in any way…but the days of playing nice with The Media are over. They have proven their only play is to tear you down. They aren’t going to suddenly change their habits and put Kamala on their shoulders and usher her to victory. Harris should flood the airwaves with whatever scripted stuff seems best to her. The Ds need to rewrite their playbook completely and get their shit together…they have been horrible for many years at this. But Harris should NOT subject herself to high-risk appearances and attempt to do live and unscripted media blitzes like she is desperate to win over the populace. She inherits the gravitas. She’s in the catbird seat. She’s the VP. Completely vetted. Everyone knows who she is. She can call her own shots on The Media. She needs to look presidential and in control, not needy for approval.

Biden’s campaign squad already proved what should be obvious. You don’t take unnecessary risks. When a poor debate performance was the ONLY thing that could derail your campaign…why do it? Your opponent is a felon. But no, The Media then demanded he come and perform like a trained seal in front of them and still treated him badly.

For all of The Media’s faults, they are still able to tear people to shreds. Biden’s tenure and the last month proved THEY AREN’T YOUR FRIENDS. You need to control every single aspect of your PR and fight hard to put out the fires that crop up. But don’t invite trouble and get out over your skis trying to ‘win’ people over, especially playing in The Media’s minefield. There are lots of Social Media and other options where Harris can set the tone she wants without rolling the dice, subjecting herself to Media interrogations, and endless Town Halls.
