As I understand it, it’s even worse than that. Not just backup, but being able to authenticate that an NFT is one-of-a-kind by going back to the blockchain that minted it for verification, or contacting the person or organization that minted it. If the blockchain or other authenticator disappears, so does the “value” of the NFT.
It started as a good idea, a way for legit artists working in digital media to actually make a living selling unique, un-copyable works like artists working in traditional physical media like painting or sculpture. But it was quickly taken over by scammers, because it’s tailor-made for scamming people out of their money.

I do not know anything about this market. But I do know a bit about Trumpees.
If Trump does get the Repug nomination for president, whatever it is, and again I must admit I have no clue because I think the crypto market itself is scam, it will be a good investment.
That is Trumpees will be only to happy to pay for nothing so long as it has Trump’s name on it, be it a picture of the Moon or a picture of Trump mooning America.
