He was fired, Prince said, since “he violated our policies.” But Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) asked why Blackwater flew the now-ex-employee out of Iraq, which sounded to Maloney like he was fleeing a crime scene, as the Justice Department had started an investigation. “We can fire, we can fine, but we cannot detain,” was Prince’s answer. Did Blackwater help him flee the country? “It could easily be,” Prince said.
