Voter Suppression Looms Large in Push to Replace the Senator We heard a lot in the day after Lindsey Graham died at 71 about the way in which the senator played a key roll for the White House, explaining how the Senate worked to Trump. Given the president’s recent, monomaniacal focus on passing the SAVE…

Lessons in spycraft, essential to the careful crafting of conspiracy theories. Is there a covert assassination technique for mimicking a dissected aorta? Ingesting a miniature robotic razorblade? Injecting? Inhaling? There’s a thriller script in there somewhere.

Lindsey just flew back from Ukraine but Trump says they talked about the SAVE Act, yeah right!
Trump doesn’t even try to make his lies believable any more.

Another episode in the continuing series “How nuts is Trump?”

From the UK newspaper the Guardian, I learn that Trump has a plan for the Strait of Hormuz which he discussed on American TV this morning

President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States would probably take over the strait of Hormuz and should be reimbursed for controlling ‌the vital ‌waterway. "We’re going to ‌keep the strait, and we’ll probably run it. We will become the guardian ‌of the strait. Maybe we will call it the guardian angel of the strait. And we should be reimbursed for that", he said in a ‌phone interview on Fox News Fox + Friends program.

I remind everyone that in early 2025 Trump had a plan for Gaza too, which he announced at a White House press conference. The US would take over Gaza, remove the 2 million people temporarily, and rebuild the entire strip with luxury hotels along the coast. The displaced Gaza people could come back to staff the hotels. Those words are recounted in the Regime Change book by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. Even Trump’s staff thought this plan was unworkable (nuts?) without the commitment of large numbers of American troops.

Meanwhile, in the real world, traffic through the strait of Hormuz fell precipitously after Iran attacked a Cypriot-flagged container ship on Saturday, leading to extensive attacks by both sides on each other’s bases. There were only 14 crossings through the Strait on Sunday, according to data from maritime intelligence firm Kpler.
