Only in America do we name things after the losing side in a Civil War.
If by “explode” you mean “implode,” then yes, you are definitely on to something.
Me, I’m giddy knowing a bunch of moron cult-members will be penniless after this ruse. Them supporting the candidate/party that will gut their social security is just a cherry on top.
I’m surprised he didn’t say Robert E. Lee is “an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more.”
That plunge at 8 AM looks like a big tranche of stock came on the market and clobbered the share price, so either someone found a bunch of stock to borrow and sell short, or someone with a bunch of stock who is able to trade decided to get out of the market.
This is a pretty dangerous time to be shorting the stock–the time to do that was when trading opened on the stock, so my guess is that someone decided to suck up their losses and close out their position.
The usual BS before he entered the courtroom:
“Nothing like this has ever happened before,” the former president complained. “It’s never been anything like it. Every legal scholar said this case is nonsense. It should never have been brought.”
Trump called the case “political persecution.”
“And that’s why I’m very proud to be here,” he said. “This is an assault on our country, and it’s a country that’s failing.”
“It’s a country that’s run by an incompetent man who’s very much involved in this case,” Trump added. “This is really an attack on a political opponent. That’s all it is. So I’m very honored to be here.”

I don’t recall Biden has uttered a single word on his trials other than to acknowledge they exist.
As I said upthread, contrast this to how Chump behaves as the defendant, and how you know he would behave if he was in the WH and his opponents were stupid enough to commit crimes like he has done.
ETA: His entire being is invested in re-writing reality. He spends large chunks of each day trying to convince his dwindling minions that Biden is doing all the evil things he himself eats/sleeps/breathes.
Man, is that unprecedented or what?
Their M O sure does seem to be “Oh yeah??? Well, so what?!?!”
I mentioned upthread that they firmly believe ignorance is bliss. That goes for absolutely everything under the sun.
And i was thinking yesterday with regard to Israel and Iran with the likes of Tom Cotton and Marsha Blackburn that they, very likely, really do want to see a nuclear war within their lifetimes. They have no idea what the repercussions of such a war would be like. As long as they’ve got theirs (or so they think), they just don’t care. As long as it’s their enemies who get it first. That goes for the end of Medicare and Social Security, and the ACA, and abortions, and vaccines, and protections for LBGTQ, and environmental protections, and safeguards against global warming, and you name it. If a liberal is for it, then their against it, and vice versa. Again, ignorance is bliss. They’ve found their miserable happy place, so get the fuck out of their way!!!
This will be an interesting 6 weeks to follow.
Unlike England, we named our current king after the losing one
The most America of endings.

You go, Big Gretch! 2028 awaits you.
If only she spoke up after the video came out.
Found a good kitty pic for y’all. I miss mine today.
I’m watching a somewhat immature Robin protect her bird’s nest on my back porch and I know it’s a young dumb one because it likes to eat my suet and seeds at the feeder instead of venturing out not very far to find bugs and worms which is more in line with her diet. She keeps hopping around and tapping on my back window to scare off other birds from getting too close. Been doing this for days now, maybe weeks. Kinda a mentalcase as bird’s go…but no one should ever under-estimate a mother trying to protect her young.
Always remember that the polls called a red wave in ‘22.
That explains it. Braxton Bragg was among the most inept generals ever, why someone though it proper to name a military base of any size after him is a mystery. And John Bell Hood was just as awful.
This is what Grant had to say about Bragg.
Bragg was a remarkably intelligent and well-informed man, professionally and otherwise. He was also thoroughly upright. But he was possessed of an irascible temper , and was naturally disputatious . A man of the highest moral character and the most correct habits, yet in the old army he was in frequent trouble. As a subordinate he was always on the lookout to catch his commanding officer infringing his prerogatives; as a post commander he was equally vigilant to detect the slightest neglect , even of the most trivial order.
I have heard in the old army an anecdote very characteristic of Bragg. On one occasion, when stationed at a post of several companies commanded by a field officer, he was himself commanding one of the companies and at the same time acting as post quartermaster and commissary. He was first lieutenant at the time, but his captain was detached on other duty. As commander of the company he made a requisition upon the quartermaster—himself—for something he wanted. As quartermaster he declined to fill the requisition, and endorsed on the back of it his reasons for so doing. As company commander he responded to this, urging that his requisition called for nothing but what he was entitled to, and that it was the duty of the quartermaster to fill it. As quartermaster he still persisted that he was right. In this condition of affairs Bragg referred the whole matter to the commanding officer of the post. The latter, when he saw the nature of the matter referred, exclaimed: “My God, Mr. Bragg, you have quarrelled with every officer in the army, and now you are quarrelling with yourself!”
