Texas State Government Moves To Take Over Houston Schools

And I’ll kindly ask you not to put words in my mouth. When I condemn each and every last kindergarten teacher, maintenance worker, and assistant principal in HISD, you’ll bloody well know it.

Your words spoke for themselves. Apparently, your “law training” didn’t include clear communication.

I distinctly remember my uncle warning me about conservative school board takeovers many years ago. The GQP learned this lesson well.

“Entire” was, and remains, your adjective. Not mine.

Are you seriously saying the Republicans who run Texas and are now taking over the Houston School system are not corrupt? Less corrupt than the school system itself

But that is not really the question. The question is not the HISD, I mean show me a school district large enough to matter and there will almost certainly be inefficiency and yes, corruption.

Corruption is not the standard used for determining Republican takeover or if being consistent Abbott would take over every major school district in the state.

The reason for the takeover, if the article is correct, is a single failing school and likely the poorest and most racially segregated. In a eighth biggest school district in the nation, that fails the laugh test.

Like with many things where the excuse (why someone says they do something) fails the laugh or if you prefer smell test, we need to find the reason, why Abbott is actually taking over Houston’s schools. We know it is not a single failing school or “corruption”, so why?

This article provides a more credible reason than the excuse given by Abbott or simply pointing out that there is inefficiency or even corruption.

In terms of good old-fashioned graft, I am absolutely saying that HISD is worse than the TEA.

To clean house. See also the Wilmer-Hutchins Independent School District.

So you are telling me that this takeover of the school system in Houston is because Abbott and the other Republicans care about the Black and Brown and even White school children in Houston.

Talk about failing the laugh test.

I am telling you the words that I have written. No more, no less.

You know, that’s not what I’ve been doing all my life. I don’t think everyone is a useful term.

We are imperfect and conflicted, but we have made progress, it’s just that the gop is trying to go back to the 50’s of McCarthy and Red Scares and something from “Don’t Worry Darling” but it’s not a done deal.

That Michigan getting rid of right to work law story, but then this Houston takeover story, well, there’s work getting done but lots more to do.

Democrats have to push back hard and in any and every way, and fuck Trump and DeSantis and Jordan and all the rest of these fascist thug bullies.

Their humanity is as rotten as Iago’s heart.
