Just imagine if the Dems had their own Network like Fox, except it eschewed sensationalism, preposterous conspiracy theories, constant lying and bullshitting and superficially attractive but vapid “personalities.” Instead, it would report on facts and substance surrounding national and world news, had analysis and informed opinion by experts and interviewed politicians committed to maintaining democracy over corporate profits. Where objectivity and balance was just sticking to the facts and known relationships among people and issues themselves, regardless of who was affected.
Surely such a network would constitute a ratings bonanza..
Note that this is about naturalized U.S. citizens, not birthright citizens. It’s hard to imagine someone’s citizenship being stripped for tax fraud years after being naturalized, and not for fraud during the application for citizenship process. But who knows with this SCOTUS.
I think at least for now, this is in the category of Noem and Homan’s attempt to scare immigrants from coming here. At least until they try the first test case.
Completely agree with you and @tcollier!! As many others have also noted, this would provide a vast improvement in the Electoral College even without moving to a purely popular voting system (for which we’ll never (IMHO) get the necessary Constitutional Amendment to fix/remove).
ETA: Regarding anti-gerrymandering efforts, here’s a recent comment that may have some useful suggestions in it.
Of course he is. After January 6th it shouldn’t be a surprise. Democrats can see tRump’s election interference plan coming from miles away. tRump will tell us who, what, where, and when … and as usual the Democrats will be caught flat footed. I’ve been around a while and I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Democratic Party is such a weak oppositional state. People are fed up and disgusted with their capitulation.
