Greg Abbott has announced that as an extra measure to control the spread of COVID-19 no hospitalized patients will be permitted to go to bars, restaurants or amusement parks unless they wear a mask.

I find it alarming that scientists and other experts are not pointing out that one of the most dangerous and deadly side effects of the COVID-19 virus is its ability to make douchebag Republican politicians into even bigger douchebags. Frightening, but it be cured by having them drink copious amounts of bleach and sticking 4-foot blacklight bulbs up their GOP asses while listening to “Foxy Lady” by Jimi Hendrix (the music is for our benefit, since they have no musical taste whatsoever.)

What that means is that any space that was formerly a breakroom, a closet, or a hallway can now house an ICU bed.
I thought last week, or the week before they were talking about a field hospital, or a field hospital set up in arena?
And for the love of God when will the newsoulets beside Rachal Maddow start showing the rest of the country the stories of burnt out nurses and doctors? Start doing stories on those who have survived and what lays ahead of them for recovery?
This past week on “This American Life” had an episode on Detroit. Now is the time to get the stories from doctors, nurses, and survivors from more rural America.

Depends on the locale. 95% at Central Market this weekend (wish they would hire bouncers to expel the 5% Trumptards). At the chain restaurant/beer joint I got takeout from on Friday night, it was like everybody except staff was deliberately trying to get infected.

I’m in suburban Tarrant County, one county west of Dallas. As of Friday, businesses here had to require masks. Prior to that, I’d say 50-60% were wearing them. This weekend, on my few ventures out, I’d say it was closer to 90%.

A church I know sent a choir on a mission trip to San Antonio. A small group of 30. They were proud that they social distanced from their audiences. Of course they didn’t do a damn thing to protect themselves within the group.

White House aides have argued that television interviewers often try to goad Fauci into criticizing the president or the administration’s approach, and that Fauci is not always good about “staying on message,” in the words of a senior administration official. Aides did allow Fauci to appear on CNN recently for a town hall, the official said.

I don’t think anyone has an idea of what a safe social distance is for singers. They are trained to project their voices, which also projects viruses farther than just normal breathing and talking.

Percentage of masking depends massively on location. I saw some news clips of Q-Tip Pence speaking at First Baptist yesterday, and I would guesstimate that masking was 50-60%. MAGA!
