Someone should spray him with some Ortho ground clear, that stuff really works on poison ivy and honeysuckle bushes.
No declaration of martial law, which is generally the only time you can do that sort of thing.
Long history of quarantining sick people, but we’re in uncharted territory with this.
A fixer that then files a criminal complaint against the judge who called him? Nope.
Or offer some money to cover the cost if having it cleaned.
Gravell was caught when an anonymous Twitter account named “Buddy Falcon” tweeted photos of the judge decked out in firefighter bunker gear at his grandson’s home. An unnamed “very annoyed neighbor” who was “sick of the rules not applying to everybody” had sent the photos, according to Buddy Falcon.
It’s absolutely appropriate for the Commission on Judicial Conduct or its equivalent in Texas to look into this.
George P. Bush, son Jeb, is quietly embedded in the Texas political system as Land Commissioner, usually seen as a stepping stone to higher office.Soon enough he’ll emerge so we can elect another bush or see another one disgraced. Can’t wait.
So besides the judge’s monkey shines, why would any thinking person throw a party amid the stay at home order?
/ s / rhetorical / dumbass Texas
Nothing wrong with a kid having a birthday party as long as it stays within that one household.
That was my thought, too!
Near as i can tell, he is the lawyer for Buddy Falcon, the person who distributed the photos in the first place. Thats what the article seemed to say. ![]()
I was surprised to read this - I thought judges in Texas had to have at least an 8th grade education. Have their standards slipped?
That is plausible, but the article did not say that. The name McCabe is just dropped out of the blue with no explanation for why he is involved.
That’s an excellent point - if you want to act like a fu**ing imbecile, the Constitution gives you that right, which I’d imagine you exercise pretty often.
The small-town/rural systems are ill-prepared for what’s coming.
Too bad, medically. But there are also other negatives.
For one thing, the rustic, picturesque lure of country-Murka is a loser…and folks (those who believe in science, Climate change, etc**) will most assuredly motor on past the small town exit off the Interstate on their way home.
Remember that Louis Gohmert was elected as a Texas judge—more than once.
What’s interesting is how pissed the fire chief and defense attorney are to take a public shit all over him, and to actually file charges. Can’t say it’s not warranted.
I’m just going to assume he’s a Republican. Don’t see a need to check on that fact.
Great catch, Ralph. Sounds about right to me. And it fits in my little world with people I know personally. The ones not staying home are exactly the ones who doubt climate change and science generally.
Oh, and who watch Fox news too.
Thanks for sharing.
decreed that anyone who left their homes for non-essential reasons would be sentenced up to six months in jail or pay a fine of $1,000
Well Judge Gravell which will it be? Jail time or $1000?
Ruh-roh! (I’ll hold your beer @castor_troy)
If he’s taking it so seriously as to go to the extreme of wearing fire fighting gear, why in the hell is he even allowing his grandson to have a party? Makes no sense at all.
I sentence him to hang by the neck until dead.
