Yeah, you’re right. Probably even longer back than Newt. Reagan comes to mind…

They’ve been devious shits for decades, this round was just more widespread, concentrated and focused than even Bush Baby’s Rummie and Darth Cheney. Who I thought were the worst of the worst. Boy, was I wrong.

Never heard that one before, but it’s going into the library!

It’s like the more years that pass, the more potent the distilled evil gets.

Yeah, she had some keepers. Another gem, said to me many times, was “If you had a brain you’d be dangerous.”

As it turned out, I do and she was right.

That Family Circle cartoon has been published probably once a month for the last 50 years. Lazy fucks. Dump 'em and bring in some new, funny, cartoonists.

And newspapers wonder why their readership is dying off.

Sheesh. I was so focused on not adding an extra “e” to the last name that I screwed up the first name.

Thx. Corrected.

And Georgia needs to be sued for changing their election software at the last minute and without any input/quality control from its own election commission.

OK, with you guys on the family sayings: “I’m so hungry I could eat the ass-end of a skunk!” Thanks to my late father-in-law for that one.

Prior decision was in the last week or so. It dealt with a 2017 change to ballot the GOP enacted to make it so ballots could not have a “straight party” vote, which allowed you to just check one box to vote all races for one party. 5th Circuit said in part that it’s too close to the election to change it back now. Decision was issued even BEFORE Abbot pulled this current stunt. The 5th Circuit will say this is fine…,.maybe even refuse to take the appeal after some Trumper judge in the trial court refuses to issue an injunction and gives Abbot the green light to fuck everyone.

Is it weird that they aren’t asking for a TRO? Isn’t Abbott’s order effective today?

I live in California, and the effects of what I can do locally is limited because we don’t have to defend our rights here so strongly, so this morning I donated to ACLU Texas, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and MoveTexas, to help defend and expand voting rights in Texas.

Also Harris County. Abbot’s line is complete BS, of course. Gawd forbid people in the cities be allowed to vote.

Interesting that the League of Women Voters chose to get involved as a plaintiff.

Remember what happened in Wisconsin?

There was a HUGE “Fuck you!” turnout there when the tried suppressing the vote

Harris and other TX counties are larger than some states in population and/or geography. But those states have multiple sub districts where people can drop off ballots.
