hahahahahahahahaha yeah. That’s ok. I love Beto but he isn’t the only Texas Dem I love - I love them all.
Last time they did this, Tom Delay sent the Dept. Homeland Security after them. They were in a motel in Oklahoma.

This is apparently our last move to protect the voting rights act after the SCOTUS has maimed it over the last few years. It’s a far-from-best solution. I wish it didn’t come to this.
Dumb question: Is there any chance the Texas supreme court would protect voting access, or are they also very partisan?
In the past, they ‘head faked’ the governor and leaked rumors where they supposedly were hiding out in other states when in fact most remained in Austin in various ‘safe houses.’
Yes.
No chance in hell!
I’d love to give them sanctuary here in Taos. Me and Michelle would take care of them.
Who’s Lucy and who’s Charley Brown now, mofo?
I can’t imagine D.C. would honor a Texas extradition attempt if the Hon. Muriel Bowser has any say in it.
Sadly…the voters of Texas are still the hapless football.
I haven’t been frequenting the site that much over the past month, didn’t see that you had made it out to Taos!
Congrats!
Thanks. We had to - we didn’t come out last year and you can’t leave a house just sitting. Shit happens. Shit happened. hahahaha Luckily it’s all shit that can be remedied.
Now that I’m here, I don’t want to go back to Red Hell. But I have to do that, too, eventually.
So being politically naive, how can Texas state Republicans run roughshod over Texas state Dems in the house when the Dems have the numbers that can effect quorum?
The answer is it wouldn’t. No warrant, no arrest, no extradition.
All SCOTX justices are elected to office via state-wide partisan races (except the governor can make an appointment to fill a seat that comes open until the next election). That said, they’re mostly not the hackiest possible hacks. They repeatedly shot down some of the lunatic fringe types who filed suit last year to restrict voting opportunities in the pandemic.
Yea, this says a lot about the Texas GQPers regard for democracy and freedom. Apparently they have no respect for either. Texas Fascists, maybe???
Agree. More like a “strategic withdraw” . . . . for the “good of the order.”
I love that they’re taking a plane and flying to DC.
Hope they really do confront Sinema and Manchin.
I’m surprised the governor didn’t order the Texas Air National Guard (GW’s old outfit) to try to force their planes down.
You know how in the military they’re supposed to refuse an unlawful order? Well, that’s what you’re describing there!
