Tenants Say They Were Tricked Into RNC Video Appearance: ‘I Am Not A Trump Supporter’ | Talking Points Memo

Three of the tenants who appeared in a public housing clip that aired during the Republican National Convention have said they were never told that their interviews with a longtime Trump associate who oversees federal housing programs would be edited and used during the GOP convention.

So will Patton’s pay be docked-nope. I want to see the receipts, I want to see who paid for this.

Ummmm…
“All interview subjects were fully aware of the purpose of the interviews,” he said. He added that Patton was “acting in her own personal capacity.”
So if it is shown that you are all a bunch of liars who couldn’t actually disclose what you were doing, Patton is going under that bus. OK. Getting pretty crowded under there.

In the video, the tenants spoke candidly about poor conditions in the housing authority’s buildings and appeared to praise Trump’s record on public housing

Trump has a record on public housing? His record as a private landlord was far from sterling. In fact, it was odious.

Not surprising at all

So they tricked people into appearing to support Trump, and when those people say they weren’t made aware of the purpose of the interviews, the Trumpanzees try to gaslight them and say that they’re lying? So they interviewed liars and used them as examples of Trump supporters? Or they themselves are the liars?

Gosh, who to believe!

Also related, the campaign’s use of walk on/off music without permission. They’ve been told to cease and desist on several occasions. It’s gross entitlement, arrogance and disrespect on the part of Trump and his campaign.

It’s symptomatic with Trump and his fellow creatures of opprobrium.

During the Republican convention, as usual, Trump looked like sh_t. There is a reason for that. That reason is self-evident.

Yup, and they used Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah after being told no.

My very first thought.

“As head of the New York office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Patton is technically banned from leveraging her position as a government employee to engage in political activity under the Hatch Act.”

No. Patton is not “technically banned”, she is BANNED, period!

All his life, Trump has been using and conning people…The desperation of Trump Campaign is donning Trump’s persona - DonTheCon!

The tenants Trump conned for his RNC props seems to be what Trump would have no compunction deporting or separating from their families…just saying!

Another despicable example coming from Trump’s Props Department like this…Nothing is sacred of decent in this Mendacious regime!

See, Trump’s rich and when you’re rich and “when you’re a star, they let you do it. They they let you do anything.”

Yes, the two things, his taking advantage of women and the using, without permission, of peoples’ creativity and life experiences are related.

I agree, but then again look at what happened to ACORN. Even after his selective editing and lying were exposed, ACORN is still dead.

Coz the right wing noise machine and the gullible media united to bring ACORN down. Without the amplification by many news outlets, it would never have amounted to anything. I hope they’ve learned a few things, but I’m not entirely convinced they have.

This ethical transgression is part and parcel of the Republican’s strategy of constant lying and rewriting history, as well as blatant criminal violations of the Hatch Act.

The overarching point is the wholesale corruption of one major American Party that will literally say and do anything to hold on to power they cheated to acquire in the first place. It’s the media’s responsibility to focus on this big picture narrative and to present it to the American people, but it doesn’t appear they’re up to doing their job, preferring to focus on aesthetics instead.

You would think the fact that Republicans want to destroy Democracy and our Constitutional Republic might get more attention.
