TeleTracking Claims NDA On Trump Admin Contract, Baffling Senators And Experts | Talking Points Memo

Who wudda thunk Trump elevated Tele Tracking to above the law status with the flick of a pen.

In this day, the only way an individual or corporation will gain business from the Federal government is if they agree contractually agree to break the law for Trump.

Give me a break.
Calling it “transparency questions” is classic both-siderism in my book.
There’s no question about what it raises.

Business as usual - emboldened by GOP complicity. A contract written not by government specialists but by WH helpers. What do you want to bet that this contract with its sheild-the-guilty NDA also has zero consequences for the vendor if they fail?

It’s almost like the White House WANTS COVID data to go away, like a miracle.

Whomever executed this contract should be dragged into a hearing to have their name permanently attached to the grift and malfeasance of the Trump administration.

Yes, just who has the power of the purse… Tell them talk or your money dries up. Bets that in 3, 2, 1 they scream and the admin screams but money talks.

The company should know better. The NDA’s not valid, it’s not going to protect anyone and someone’s about to go to jail.

To think that these are some of the same voters who were apoplectic at the Obama administration’s use of executive orders. Absolutely incredible.

Unbridled power and relishing rubbing everyone’s noses in it.

It always goes back to the personality. He has felt snubbed and isolated since he was a kid. His whole act is pay back to anyone who did not kiss his ring.

Charge TeleTracking with Contempt of Congress and take them to court.

If people are allowed to cite NDA’s to get out of testimony to Congress, then Congress can kiss its oversight responsiblities good-bye. Every campaign, corporation, and presidential administration will require NDA’s, will make them de rigueur, in order to protect themselves and avoid scrutiny.

The House cannot let this stand unchallenged if it wants to retain the ability to exercise oversight over the gov’t and corporations.

I seem to recall when impotus was inaugurated, there was discussion about him requiring NDAs from all staff. No matter how many times they explained to him it would not be enforceable, he still insisted. They gave in but made sure to tell staff it was not enforceable.

It’s like we’re trapped in a Stephen King adaptation of a Franz Kafka novel directed by Stanley Kubrick.

I’m just waiting for the Stealers Wheel soundtrack to begin…

Maybe they should be paying attention to the coming House interrogation of slimy Trumper DeJoy. They will be back peddling in no time.

Who is playing the lead?
I suggest Klaus Kinski.

But don’t worry–we’ll be sure to all obsess over Limbaugh’s saying foul things about Kamala Harris. We won’t have time to process this or ask Congress to step in, because tomorrow something else will happen.
