As if by reflex alone, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Wednesday managed to divert a long-awaited congressional antitrust hearing featuring the CEOs of four major tech companies with a sideshow about “unmasking.”
This guy needs a good smacking upside the head.
Jordan is bonkers, but these hearing formats are terrible.
The House got it right during Trump’s impeachment. Make that the default format and put these crazy free-for-alls in the rulebook trashbin.

All of these companies, even Facebook, are viewed positively by the public. Google has one of the strongest brands in history. Meanwhile, many American people would pay good money to watch the members of this House committee be eaten alive by venomous cobras. I don’t know what this committee thought was going to happen today.
