Thank you. And hopefully we won’t have to read any more of this-“My own opinion is that they would have maybe maybe not retaken the House in 2022 but would have recovered by 2024.” Really, really?
The line to piss on his grave will not rival the line at Trump’s grave but it will be long nonetheless. Very long.
I erred in saying he deserves as much blame, “as anyone else.” I retract that.
However, Merrick Garland does deserve a lot of blame and scorn. Trump belongs in the same place as the other January 6’ers that are in prison and had Garland proceeded to treat him without deference just like all the others, then he likely would be. Garland deserves a lot of blame and scorn.
Look on the bright side. His grave will give us all a third place to take a shit besides Reagan and Limbaugh’s…
[McConnell] failed to stand up to Trump when it mattered most.
He leaves the country in worse shape than when he started.
Many “traditional” Republicans wanted someone to stop Trump, but they weren’t willing to be the one standing up to do the job.
Either one of his impeachments could have resulted in his banishment from holding future office, had the Senate Republicans not voted their partisanship.
McConnell standing in the Senate saying the Trump was a very naughty boy, but didn’t deserve to be punished for leading Jan6th, was pathetic and weak. Same for Graham and other R senators who later did a 180.
Any number of states could have ruled to keep him off the ballot due to his Jan 6th insurrection.
SCOTUS could (still) rule that CO and ME were within their rights to keep him off the ballot. But they won’t.
Republicans at heart are nothing but craven cowards, and we are all paying the price.
Burn in hell Mitch.
I shudder at the mere thought.
First off, this should surprise nobody.
Secondly, it took 4 to hear the case but 5 to stay the lower court.
Thirdly, this is because we have a political Supreme Court who are bad faith actors with 6 Justices who view their job not as upholding the constitution but as upholding the Republican Party.
All that said I am not as pessimistic as others because of Georgia. That is after yesterday, while the Supreme Court is what it is, I predict that no latter than 2 weeks from today, thanks to a state Judge in Georgia, that case will be on track to be heard before the election.
Yeah. Why hasn’t this been submitted to NYT or WaPo as a guest editorial? This needs to be widely read.!
Don’t worry. TPM is widely read and influential. Riga’s brilliant piece will not go unnoticed.
Lets not forget Ruth Bader Ginsburg own goal to her legacy either. Are you listening Sonia?
Stop that.
Aaaaaaand, once was enough!
Moscow Mitch, buh bye. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. Traitor.
I’m glad you agree that ol’ Merrick the Meek isn’t on our side.
I’m absolutely looking forward to reading the obituaries of turtle and a bunch of the other clowns of his generation in the next few years.

Look on the bright side. His grave will give us all a third place to take a shit besides Reagan and Limbaugh’s…
Are you missing the fourth someone, or maybe the first?
Mitch McConnell’s legacy will be “always party before country.”

You can also thank Merrick Garland for this disaster. He sat on his hands and did everything he could to delay actually bringing this case. This is much a failure of Merrick Garland as it is anyone else.
