[District Judge Terry Doughty]’d also been more heavy-handed with his language, calling the government-social media company interaction a “dystopian scenario,” in which the “United States Government seems to have assumed a role similar to an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth.’”

Clearly, he doesn’t remember Orwell very well. The Minitru made sure that people never saw any conflicting information and put “erroneous” extant copies down the memory hole to ensure that all information agreed with the currently accepted line. Suggesting that social media companies provide fact-checks for mis/disinformation isn’t even in the same ballpark.

The US government’s policy still allows people to view the content and make their own decisions. It doesn’t force the media companies to do anything. And it doesn’t try to pretend the content doesn’t exist (and never did exist), like the Ministry of Truth did.

YA bad decision from Trump-appointed “judges.” Thanks, all those who voted against Secretary Clinton in favor of a criminal madman.

Or who voted for third party spoiler (and Putin plant) Jill Stein in lieu of voting for the only candidate who could prevent Donald J. Trump from taking over our Government.

The MAGA’s are not ones to let objective truth and details get in the way of some good hyperbole.
I think they’re more in tune with ‘truthiness’ - in the Stephen Colbert sense. If it sounds true, that’s good enough for them.

“The Supreme Court further extended its administrative stay of a lower court ruling banning Biden administration officials from flagging misinformation to social media companies on Friday.”

Wow! The Republican 6 banned the Biden administration from telling the truth about Republican lies.
