Supreme Court Extends Pause On Mifepristone Rulings

The Supreme Court extended its stay on lower court rulings on mifepristone until Friday just before midnight, meaning that the drug will remain accessible and available at least until then. The Court’s initial stay would have expired just before midnight…

And after Friday . . . ? Are people submitting briefs?

So…the Fascist Five will deliver the bad news as they’re heading out the door for their weekend retreats.

Clarabelle Thomas is going with Ginni on Crow’s yacht to get away from the news.

So the SC hasn’t figured out what the decision should be without causing another complete shitshow? It seems like it’s been given some good arguments to continue to allow mifepristone to be distributed and no good reason to stop it.

Will the fascist six drop a bomb on medication abortion on Friday late afternoon? I would not be surprised. If they do, though, it would guarantee another massive blue wave election in 2024.

Maybe they think we are Trumpers and will forget about their decision on Monday.

Friday night ban incoming (you know what I mean - lifting of the stay), so as others have, they expect everyone will forget about it by Monday.

Mark my words. They will uphold the Fifth Circuit’s restrictions and claim it’s nothing that wasn’t in place before 2016, while providing a roadmap instructing the next bunch of fascist twats on how to make a more effective case that will result in a permanent ban.

Except at least 3 of them have been bought and paid for to deliver for their fascist oligarch owners.

Friday night drop is the sole precedent they do continue to honor.

Guess they don’t have five yet. I’m not sure this is the worst omen we could get at this point.

Are they expecting Donnie to drop some slanders by Friday that’ll suck up all media attention through the weekend, turning the case into an also ran?

IIRC, plaintiffs had through today to submit a motion. Maybe that happened and this extension is to digest it?

It would seem to me the easiest way to be rid of this is to find the suing doctors didn’t have standing and that the judge shouldn’t have heard the case.
That would leave the right with the option of another bite at the apple down the road.

The religious fruitcake branch have already decided, this may be Roberts frantically scrambling to keep the stay to salvage a fig leaf of respectability.
