Sunk! Russians Admit Top Black Sea Ship Has Hit Rock Bottom | Talking Points Memo

Ships are designed to survive a missile strike. Could have been a lucky hit, bad safety practices by the crew, etc etc. There’s hundreds of examples of ships being hit and surviving.

Well, as in the use of a political party to promote lies, at least those outside the bubble are almost always skeptical.

Glass chin. Like the rest of their military?

“Is just coincidence. Puny Ukraine missile miss our ship by 1.6 kilometer. Unfortunate accidental tipover of Samovar during glorious victory celebration of Russian Navy caused ammunition to explode. Overly exuberant Sailor kicked Samovar over while dancing Hopak.
Is nothing to see here.
Bye bye”

I should have specified that. You’re right. But many inside Russia are outside that bubble. They don’t believe what Dear Leader tells them any longer.

OT, but a jury just convicted another J6 felony obstruction defendant on all charges. This is the guy whose attorney’s defense was that he did all of it, but he thought that was okay because Trump’s Big Lie made him do it. Remanded into custody, facing (at a guess) a likely 6-8 year sentence.

Note to J6ers: “Trump told me to do it!” might not be an especially effective defense.

Didn’t say whose ammunition exploded on board. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For what Russia’s done to the Ukrainians, epic trolling is only the beginning I would hope. :rage:

And more! They distracted the ship! Genius, if true!

One possibility is an utterly untrained conscript stopped for a cigarette break and dropped a lit match thinking nothing of it and…
BOOM!!
In some ships shells are separate from their powder charge as many times distance for the shell to travel is dependent on the powder charge in the barrel. Tanks do this as well as I witnessed in 1968 in Czechoslovakia. My preference in this present Russian debacle is that some sharp eyed Ukrainian missile man dropped one down an open hatch and set off the ship’s magazine. Musta been quite a show.
I am very happy that ship sank.

And that was that. She’s fallen and she can’t get up.

However, I do regret the loss of life, but this is on Putin. Come on, Russia. You don’t need this murdering psychopath.

I know. I never thought I’d be ‘celebrating’ death and destruction, but this isn’t something one can remain neutral about, either.

So it was as good as dead then.

As you know, just following orders didn’t work at Nuremberg either.

Whose orders in DC? Hmmmmm.
