Great!

Looks like Salvadoran prisoners, but with fatigues.

Cost of Living in Santa Monica, CA [2025]

Santa Monica is generally considered a desirable place to live, offering a blend of coastal charm and urban amenities.

Here’s a breakdown of some key aspects to consider:

Pros:

  • Beautiful Location: Situated on the Pacific Coast, it offers stunning beaches and a relaxed lifestyle.

  • Traffic Congestion: Due to its popularity and location, Santa Monica experiences heavy traffic congestion.
  • Limited Parking: Finding parking can be challenging, especially in popular areas.
  • Tourist Crowds: As a major tourist destination, Santa Monica can get crowded, particularly during peak seasons.
  • Homelessness: Like many areas in Los Angeles, Santa Monica has a visible homeless population.
  • Earthquake Risk: Located in an earthquake-prone region, residents should be aware of seismic activity.

Neighborhoods:

Santa Monica offers diverse neighborhoods, each with its unique character:

  • North of Montana: Upscale neighborhood known for spacious homes, tree-lined streets, top-rated schools, and proximity to Montana Avenue’s shops and cafes.
  • Ocean Park: Artsy neighborhood with a mix of homes, condos, and apartments, offering slightly more affordable options and easy beach access.
  • Sunset Park: Family-friendly neighborhood with quiet streets, excellent schools, and a strong sense of community.
  • Wilshire-Montana: Central location with easy access to both the beach and downtown, offering a mix of housing options and walking distance to restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions.
  • Downtown Santa Monica: Bustling hub combining city living with a beach town vibe, home to the Third Street Promenade, and offering a variety of housing options.

In conclusion, Santa Monica is a beautiful and exciting place to live, but the high cost of living and other potential drawbacks should be carefully considered before making a move.

Steven Miller says that huge swaths of Santa Monica resemble failed third world cities?

I’m used to crap coming out his mouth, but if Santa Monica resembles a third world city, then it is a particularly rich and glitzy third world city.

Perhaps he’s just still mad that no one in Santa Monica wants him there.

I would say the trump folk miss-under- estimates the American people when they are pissed off

Indeed it might. Which is why we need to get busy with the boring grunt work of politics: actually talking to.people, IDing preferences ( more sophisticated now) and registering.favorable demographics. And spreading as much truth as possible.

Which means she’s not under Stephen’s eye. So there’s that.

That’s a goddamned shame making them sleep like that. What ticks me off even more is ICE denying Jimmy Gomez, Maxine Waters and others entry to where arrested folks are being held. Those victims are probably in even worse conditions thanks to that Nazi punk Stephen Miller!

Come fire season no doubt lots of National Guard and Marines will be deployed to protect people and property. Yeah, could be some snark there.

Yep, “huge swaths” of L.A., like this couple of dumpsters and some cars we found, resemble the “failed third world.”

Unfortunately, Fetterman is a live example that the path to Trumpism is brain damage.

I’d also keep an eye on whether Guard soldiers balk at this domestic duty. This isn’t like patrolling the Mexican border. The people the soldiers are looking at are going to look and speak like their friends and neighbors in Manhattan Beach and Fullerton. They likely will face some tough questions about which side they are on. Not all will answer the same way.

The US Military have an excellent image among the population. But once you start using them for repression that is going to change.
