State Supreme Court Mulls Contempt For Top Ohio Republicans Amid Redistricting Power Grab

Because the members of this Political Group (note the one word that appears in the majority who support Republicans. Hint it begins with “W”) have seen the future. And it fraking terrifies them.

…Overall, the white-alone population fell by 8.6% since 2010, the bureau said on Thursday. Non-Hispanic whites now account for around 58% of America’s population…Meanwhile, there was significant growth among minority groups over the last decade. The Hispanic or Latino population grew by 23%, while the Asian alone population surged by over 35%. The Black population also increased by more than 5.6%.

So far they ARE above the law and they know it. Mark Meadows is certainly above the law as is Roger Stone and Rudy Giuliani and several others. What’s to fear? If Republicans regain control of the House and Senate in November it’s a done deal.

Must be March 28. April 28 2022 makes no sense. 10 WBNS News:

The state’s highest court last week in a 4-3 vote rejected the last plan even as final ballots were being prepared for the May 3 primary, ordering new maps submitted to the secretary of state by March 28 and filed with the court the following day.

Another errata that drives me nuts is the media claiming a 7 hour gap in the Trump WH call logs. It was 7 hr 37 min. Simple rounding dictates it was an 8 hr gap! Ugh.

TFG showed up once at TS.
It takes weeks to get approved for an account.
It’s an echo chamber, so there are no libs to own.

I accept that the current version of the Republican party is rascist to their core, but I don’t think that’s actually the biggest problem we have in this country. While it is true that there are some whites who are rascist, not all of us are. The last two campuses (campi?) I worked at were quite proud of our “minority majority” status - that is, there was no one group that constituted a majority, we were all minorities to some degree and we thrived due to the advantages diversity brought to our world.

For me the problem is more “architectural” in nature, that is, the problem is that the structure of the U.S. government (especially the Senate) is simply gerrymandered to the hilt. I mean, the combined population of North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana is roughly equal to the population of the county I live in here in southern California, but they get eight Senators and we have to share our two with the other 36 million Californian residents!

So, although they’re a minority, the “Angry White Rascists” still get to win elections and stack both Congress and the White House way too often.

I do understand that changing this is going to be hard, but now that we have so many more people able and wanting to work from home, perhaps it’s time for an active campaign to relocate both workers and retirees to all the empty acreage and reclaim the country?

GQPee-ers keep pushing purity tests for all.
We should return the favor and demand loyalty tests - to the constitution.

Should tell us how much of a non-penalty being held in contempt is.

It’s not. We have to stop thinking that it is.

Doesn’t matter what the State Supreme Court does because the Six Crooks on the Supreme Court have made it clear they’re OK with gerrymandering for the Republican Party.

Winning back Ohio from the fascists is something I want to think is still possible. Yes, Ohio public schools on balance always had pretty low standards, but there used to be and hopefully still are good teachers and engaged students. Yes, it’s a place where “jew” was often heard used as a verb, but overt racism used to be the exception. My mom used to sit on the Planned Parenthood board with lots of Country Club Republicans, some of whom she thought of as friends. Sherrod Brown somehow still has the hack codes to election as a Democrat, without becoming a Joe Manchin or even a Jon Tester. I like to think that even John Legend could maybe win statewide. (and I have hopes for Tim Ryan though also some doubts). But Fox and the tax-exempt megachurches that push an explicitly partisan agenda in violation of the law have changed Ohio, unions no longer provide a counterweight, and we need to figure out new ways to get to people, especially young people, where they live.

Dear SheSellsSeashells (not my real name lol)

Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts on H.R. 5, what some people call the Equality Act . Understanding your views helps me to better represent Florida in the United States Senate, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

As you may know, the United States House of Representatives passed H.R. 5 on February 25, 2021, and the United States Senate is expected to consider the bill soon. However, calling this bill the Equality Act is false advertising. The legislation claims to do something most people support – ending discrimination – but does something entirely different. For example, a shelter for abused women that accepts federal money would no longer be able to turn away a man who identifies as female. That is the case because the legislation would amend several major anti-discrimination provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by inserting a redefined term for “sex,” which includes “sexual orientation or gender identity” and “pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition.” Worryingly, the bill would significantly broaden the federal government’s power by authorizing agencies to enforce these new terms against “any establishment [private or public] that provides a good, service, or program” and “any activity that receives federal funding.” These provisions expressly include “schools…shelters… and providers of health care.”

H.R. 5 treats any refusal to offer abortion as “sex-based discrimination” and states that “pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition shall not receive less favorable treatment than other physical conditions.” Federal courts and agencies have interpreted the phrase “related medical condition” to include abortion. Under these new provisions, the expert judgment of medical doctors, secular and religious, would be undermined and could potentially violate civil rights laws.

H.R. 5 also conflicts with existing laws created to protect the equality, safety, and privacy of women. Any establishment subject to this new legislation is at risk of committing sex-based discrimination if it denies a patron access to a restroom or dressing room corresponding to his or her declared gender, regardless of anatomy. This includes grade school locker rooms.

The bill also comes at the expense of Americans’ hard-won fight for women’s rights. As mentioned, a person who is anatomically male, but self-identifies as female, must be allowed to spend the night in a battered women’s shelter or compete on women’s sports teams. This radical proposal would not bridge any equality gap. Instead, it would further divide our society by persecuting those who don’t embrace far left gender ideologies.

Finally, H.R. 5 subverts religious liberty by explicitly prohibiting use of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) as a basis for challenging the application or enforcement of the proposal. This has severe implications for faith-based organizations and service providers that follow the precepts of their faith on the definition of gender. This would lead to doctors and hospitals being required to perform and provide coverage for abortions or hormone therapy for young boys and girls, despite religious or conscience objections, because any entity or service provider subject to H.R. 5 cannot use the RFRA as a defense to a claim made under the act.

For these reasons, I oppose H.R. 5.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve you as your United States Senator. I will keep your thoughts in mind as I consider these issues and continue working to ensure America remains a safe and prosperous nation.

Sincerely,

\ 150x60

Sadly, it appears that Ohio has one of the most corrupt state legislatures in the US. So much so that they need to get rid of an honest conservative chief justice of their Supreme Court to continue their graft and corruption.

Yeah, you are quite correct, but that needs to end!

Yeah, let us Democrats who control the House, Senate and Office of the President of the United States and The DOJ to “MULL THIS OVER”.

Let us consider and ponder over whether or not to do anything about being suckered into becoming a Fascist County. I dunno. It could be great. Let’s give it a try.

SUMMARY: We’re going to allow the political party that’s “out of power” to take over. Just watch. It will happen.
