I think one of the only crimes that has been committed in front of the American people that is more severe than Donald Trump’s insider trading today was when Donald Trump tried to blackmail Ukraine to find dirt on Joe Biden.

I’m not asking for impeachment. I’m asking for the Republicans to ask for impeachment.

The positive side of the SG Office departures is that there will be few competent lawyers left to defend the maladministration’s policies. The negative side is that there will similarly be few competent lawyers left in DOJ as a whole to do the work of prosecuting the evil-doers.

How long before DOJ consists of Blondie Bondi and Ed Martin?

A “fool’s rally”. Drunk, senile grandpa is still at the wheel. We’ll be lucky if the country merely ends up in the ditch, and not in a head on collision.

Can Paul, Weiss and Skadden and any of the other pusillanimous law firms who cave to Trump represent the government before the Supreme Court pro bono? You know that’s what Trump wants, as the SG’s Office and the DOJ, generally, are shedding competent lawyers.

Regarding the item about the whiplash due to the delay in implementing most of the tariffs: It’s good to see Schiff calling for an investigation about whether this whole tariffs on/tariffs off was designed to lower stock prices and then boost stock prices and give insiders a chance to buy at the low and then sell at the high.

As he says, you can’t assume that they wouldn’t do it if they could, and they definitely can. Which used to be illegal.

How competent do you need to be when the conservative judges will agree with Trump position even if is unintelligible.

A cynic might ask why one needs a Solicitor General’s office when one owns the Court. Any old brief will do when you have worked the refs in advance.

We’ve seen the disintegration of this typical firewall between the DOJ and the White House’s political agenda play out in countless ways since Trump first came back to power,

Merrick Garland must be so proud.
