That’s not the point. Americans are mostly stupid and tribal. They abhor education and those with educations. Phrases like “smoke and mirrors” allow the masses of morons to mock the speaker rather than listen to the message. From the perspective of those sweaty unwashed masses, Democrats come off as smug and out of touch. If every single Democrat would start using the word bullshit, it would drown out Fat Hitler and win enough undecided votes to end this shit once and for all.

Journalists are deeply insecure because they’re not terribly bright. They cannot take a stand and say the obvious in plain English because they would expose their laughably cushy jobs for what they are, so they need to babble in esoteric horseshit to make themselves sound smarter and their jobs more difficult than they are.
