Yes they are going to try to claim Hunter is a pedophile and yes, they will release doctored footage to claim it’s proven. Trump is even saying that he thinks he’s going to win because there’s more to come.

FWIW the article said the ballots were “damaged” not destroyed. But you’re right, probably the best you can do after the fact is publicize the incident as much as possible and encourage those who suspect their ballot was destroyed to cast a provisional ballot on Election Day.

Yes, and so much for the US attorneys being a Trump field office. This is one more signal that federal entities are sensing which way the electoral wind is blowing, and acting accordingly. We’ve just now seen this, the IRS opening an investigation of Wayne la Pierre, and the intel agencies going public with Rudy Ghouliani being a conduit for Russian desinformatsiya.
Like the organs of the East German government in 1989, they are sensing the immanent fall of the Wall.

Trump is saying he’s going to win because he’s doing rallies again.
He thinks the rallies and the crowds’ enthusiasm means he’s going to win. It may be that he thinks this bullshit about Hunter will also contribute.
He seems to forget that millions have already voted.

Trump believes that they’re going to be able to hang Biden out to dry in the last few days before Nov. 3rd. Sure, he’s getting his usual narcissistic high from his rallies, but something is incoming and he knows it, has been involved with it and he expects it to destroy his opponent.
ETA: Yes, I’m predicting it’s entirely intended to ring QAnon alarm bells by trying to peg Hunter as a pedophile, which is why they’ve been in such a fit trying to deny Trump even knows what QAnon is.
