‘Simply Not Credible’: Seattle PD Oversight Agency Recommends Firing Officers Present At Capitol Riot | Talking Points Memo

In the end, the accounts provided by two unnamed Seattle police officers who attended the Capitol riot on Jan. 6 were “simply not credible,” the Seattle Police Department’s oversight office reported Thursday, recommending that the pair be fired for their actions that day.

If these officers are fired it obviously means Trump must be reinstated to the Presidency.

Seattle Police Officers’ Guild (SPOG) hadn’t commented on the report or its recommendations as of Friday, but the report noted some earlier pushback from the guild. SPOG, it said, had tried to convince the police chief to decline to allow OPA to issue the order to collect evidence from the officers, such as receipts, flight and hotel records, text messages, photographs, and bank records.

Isn’t it high time that police officers were represented by a real union, and not these poorly disguised fascist coverup conspiracies?

As a resident of Seattle, fire them. I don’t want my tax dollars paying the salaries, benefits, and retirements of these two scum bags. I look forward to learning who they are.

The Office of the Former President should issue them pardons.

Later, the report said that investigators found it “unbelievable” that the two officers could think the behavior of rioters all around them was not illegal — contrary to the claims they made in interviews. The report described their conduct as “egregious.”

The fact that the officers tried to claim they thought the behavior going on around them was legal should serve as an independent reason to fire them. If true, it would show they have no ability to discern criminal activity which is obviously a core duty of their roles as police officers.

They’ll be fine. They can get police jobs on the other side of the Cascades.

No one in the crowd had a malfunctioning left turn signal, so nothing seemed amiss.

True, that.

Makes total sense to me. Those who are supposed to be personally and professionally committed to law and order, who then exhibit behavior that holds law and order in contempt creating disorder, do not deserve their jobs.

One wonders whether the SP need a workshop or two on Critical Race Theory. The white supremacists among them need to understand where they’re coming from.

As a matter of fact, they’re top candidates for “Constitutional Sheriff” in numerous deplorable infested counties there.

‘Simply Not Credible’

This should be the boilerplate disclaimer accompanying anything spewed by the GQP.

The officers’ fate now lies with Interim Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz, who’s said he will make a decision on potential disciplinary action, including potential termination, within 30 days.

If it takes more than 30 seconds, they should fire the interim chief too. They were there. They participated. Then they lied about it in an official investigation. They should be fired and then arrested.

Too many police officers don’t seem to care, but they really need the consent and permission of their community to serve as authority figures and hold the awesome power of legally injuring or killing an individual. I think that’s the crux of the problem. Not only do many not live in the communities they serve or interact with them by just having friendly conversations, they don’t seem to have much respect for civilians, especially a certain type of civilian.

If this married couple is somehow reinstated, I would not feel comfortable living in that community with them having the ability to police me. And I say this as someone who’s fortunate enough in never having had a bad or inappropriate experience with any LEOs.

By blindly supporting all cops regardless of their actions, police unions are not serving the many good cops out there well at all, not to mention their communities.
