I hope Bolton’s book makes zero money. I don’t want him prevented from making money on it–that would have a chilling effect on whistleblowers. I just want it to be so unpopular that it brings in only $1.98 in profits.
This has two effects: 1) It will make any other publishers leery of supporting anything Bolton writes, and 2) it will mean he has to do all the book tour and talk show appearances with with no hope of getting anything out of it.
And finally, I hope his contract had a clause allowing the publisher to claw back some of the advance.

Maybe best seller status will bring about that stroke I’ve been praying for all these years. He’ll have to revisit all past family sins. It’s part of why he’s so tortured IMO.

What will be telling is if she defuses some of his contrivances in revisionist story telling. Whatever he has presented himself as, it can now be threatened. A slight correction to this story, a little extra insight into that one and he will be flinging himself at the walls. Does she own a little dog named Toto? Because he will be going after that as well. She has to have some angle beyond just money, he will visit pain on her until he is exhausted.

Sadly, I am only on page 288 of Bolton’s 578 page opus, I Helped Donald Trump Take A Dump in the Room, and will not be finished with it by the time Test Tube President: The Making of the Most Dangerous Manoid in the World hits the stands. I may simply have to put the former on the back burner while I read the latter, because the latter sounds to be much juicier than the former is proving to be, alas.

Mary Trump is the daughter of the late Fred Jr., who died of alcoholism at a relatively young age and who was the scapegoat of his generation because he didn’t toe Fred Sr.'s line but tried to strike out in his own direction instead of working in the family’s rapacious business. The family denied money for medical care to Fred Jr’s disabled son and apparently shafted Mary and her brother when Fred Sr. died. I don’t know much more than that, but it’s not as though she’s been in cahoots with them for years and has suddenly decided to break with them. The break came a long time ago, and she seems to have come out of it as her own person who has tried to do some good in the world.
