Anyone want a 15 year old Siamese cat? She’s driving me nuts this morning. Right now she is sitting out on the deck in the Pacific Northwest rain so she can come back in good and wet.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Not to be undone by a woman
RFK Jr. and Trump official do pull-ups in bizarre press conference

Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s lined face contorted into a gnarled grimace as he hauled his shaking body up towards the metal bar for one last pull-up.

That was one of the strangest moments in a generally pretty strange press conference, held at taxpayer expense at Washington D.C.'s Reagan International Airport by the Trump administration on Monday.

In the space of 36 minutes that no one watching will ever get back, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy offered no new solutions to the ongoing air traffic controller shortage, no plan to reduce the high cost of airport food, and no update on a Biden-era proposal to ban airlines from charging families extra fees just to sit together.

But he did announce $1 billion in new grant money for airports with ideas on how to make air travel healthier and more pleasant, before ushering in a parade of friendly influencers and entrepreneurs to talk about their personal hobbyhorses.

“What if we could create small spaces for Americans in airports to get mini workouts? Maybe some treadmills for people who want to walk near their gate… maybe some exercise bikes?” asked pseudoscience advocate and supplement-hawker Paul Saladino.

Conservative podcaster Isabel Brown decried the dirty, run-down state of America’s airport breastfeeding spaces and suggested that better facilities could “encourage young women to embrace the beauty of motherhood” and raise birth rates.

Kennedy, Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary, waxed lyrical about the nutritional qualities of “a mother’s breast” and inveighed against unhealthy airport food, then handily beat Duffy in a pull-up contest in front of reporters.

“Fourteen, fifteen — whoah man, he’s coming for you!” exclaimed an onlooker as the 71-year-old rapidly executed pull-ups in his work shirt and famous skinny tie, finally stopping at 20.

“Health and Human Services! This is what they do. They just do pull ups all day,” said Duffy, who only managed 10.

Like the others filed Friday, Bove’s declaration was cursory and raised the prospect of using attorney-client privilege as a shield to block further inquiry from Boasberg.

So when Bove is telling Reuveni that “they might have to tell the courts “fuck you” if they tried to block the AEA deportations”, who is the client and who is the attorney in this exchange?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, deplorable is much too nice a word for these assholes.

Tariff trivia for the day. Punchline: Trump is an idiot.

For the unititiated. Potash is a fertilizer. It is a natural resource, mined out of the ground. It is not a manufactured good. From Google AI:

In 2024, US potash production was approximately 420,000 metric tons, a 30,000 MT increase from 2023. This production is far less than the US consumption, which was about 5.3 million tons in 2023. The primary source of US potash is Canadian imports, which supplied 79% of the supply in 2020–2023.

Donald Trump wants to boost US production through tafiffs. Like I said, idiot.

Trump Sees His End Coming

The deranged Malignant Fascist has always been focused on grievances from the past, attending to some narcissistic wound or insult that hurt his false self-image. Many believe that he ran for President originally because of President Obama’s public mockery of him at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner in front of the celebrities and politicians that he wanted to feel accepted by. That experience triggered his simmering hatred of Obama and his desire to trash his legacy and singular domestic achievement, the Affordable Care Act, once he had the opportunity, which continues to this day.

Now, while grievance still animate him, he wants a “legacy.” When he slaps his name on public buildings, falsely brags that he brokered “peace” over recurring skirmishes between neighboring countries, and extorts absurd trophies and medals, he’s desperate to create a legacy that includes more than just his 34 felony convictions, bungling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and record of sexual assault (not to mention what’s in the Epstein - Trump files). His monstrous Marie Antoinette ballroom bribery project that resulted in the destruction of the historic East Wing of the White House is another example of his urge to manufacture a legacy (and something that a Dem candidate for President should pledge to tear down to rebuild the East Wing). So, why the obsession with legacy just 11 months into his final term? David Rothkopf, speaking on the Daily Beast podcast, says it’s because the failing MF sees his demise on the horizon:

“If you’re watching his Band-Aids and you’re watching his cankles, the number of things he wants to name after himself, I think, is a good indicator of how ill he thinks he is, because this is just him looking for some legacy. It’s just him saying, ‘Well, that could make me immortal.’ Because I think he realizes that he is shuffling off this mortal coil sooner rather than later.”

The MF’s recent musings about whether he can get into heaven (bwahahaha) are another sign that he’s seeing “the end of his story” as Rothkopf put it. His frequent public snoozing, his recent MRI, which is not part of “preventative care,” and the bruises and band aids on his hand (likely indicating he’s getting an IV for some illness) are symptoms of something more serious, which he and his lying staff won’t disclose. In any event, we’re not expecting a miraculous turn around in the MF’s health as he nears 80 years old. He apparently sees the same thing.

“Boasberg is zeroing in on whether Noem’s decision to continue with the AEA deportations despite his order was willful.”

I think “we might have to tell the courts ‘fuck you’ on the deportations establishes wilfullness.

Not being mentioned on the US side of things, basically being boasted on the Iranian side -

People who fled Iran in fear for their lives are being deported back to Iran because the US claims “they said it was ok to go back there.”

Based on the U.S. claims, “the Iranians were repatriated because of legal reasons and breach of immigration regulations," Baghaei said.

The U.S. government did not immediately acknowledge the deportation flight. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and State Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Associated Press early Monday.
