Shots Fired: WV Now Offering Hunting Rifles And Shotguns As Part Of Vaccine Lottery

If there was a national program of free autographed Trump photos to anyone getting the vaccine we’d see the 40% that have committed to avoiding it rush to the clinics.

Hm, seems unlikely that one would be able to get sufficient numbers of the genuine article, but I imagine President Biden ought to have TFG’s old autopen somewhere around there…

I don’t have a problem with this, even the gun prizes. If it convinces a few thousand people to get vaccinated, who otherwise wouldn’t, then it is a public good.

But given how some people treat the lottery, it may be necessary to point out that getting vaccinated multiple times does not improve their chances of winning a prize.

Pay Trump $100 per signature and he’d sit and sign until his hand fell off.

We already have evidence to suggest he’d do it for $0.50.

West Virginia currently has one of the highest new case rates and one of the lowest overall vaccination rates. If stupid lotteries are what it takes to get some people to get vaxxed, I’m fine with it.

Jim Justice -like far too many other Republicans- looks like some warmed-over zombie. Their minds are stuck in reflex mode without resort to logical thinking.

What billionaire wouldn’t do that?

$5 would be enough.

Hey, why not throw in a couple of anti-tank weapons while you’re at it? Maybe even some gas centrifuges for enriching uranium?

Trump is broke. He scrambles monthly behind the scenes to stay ahead of all the bank debts coming due. Just borrowed a few hundred million against a struggling property to pay off someone else. His entire business model is funded by the equivalent of a Pay Day loan storefront.

“Free” to the recalcitrant vaccinatee, but those Sharpie autographs would cost the states a hell of a lot more than their other lottery prizes.

ETA: Seems to be a significant difference of opinion on the value cost of a Trumpograph.

I know. Maybe when it all falls apart, most of his true-believers will finally walk away from this ugly man.

Do the prizes include ammo?

Asking for friend too poor to afford ammo.

That’s how it’s working in CA. I have a feeling the red states where they are doing this know that it’s their constituents who are refusing to be vaccinated, so if they aim the prizes at them they will get more good will. That may incentivize them to aim prizes only at the ones who haven’t been vaccinated yet, but hopefully every state is giving the prizes to anyone who was vaccinated, just to be fair.

I’d move to the state that offers a nice acoustic guitar amp with amazing digital effects.

If they could…or would…read, it might be worth the printing costs.

Perfect. Like we don’t have ENOUGH problems…now we promise them guns if they’ll get the vaccine that they believe is filled with microchips and the blood of babies.
