Oh, look, they lied. CNN broke this with the leaked footage, but only found their video/YT version of the story Video at the link.
But video obtained by CNN shows extensive damage to sailors’ living quarters, with rows of bunks reduced to charred metal frames, burned ceilings, exposed electrical wiring and floors covered in ash. According to the sailor and a U.S. official familiar with the incident, the ship’s fire-suppression system failed to activate, forcing crew members to battle the blaze manually.
