The Old Guard opting to retire rather than ally themselves with a party that they no longer know let alone feel a part of.

What will remain will be a shrill voice with no focus. The Reality TV Show party instead of the Republican party.

Sure, but it’s yet another election that the Republicans have to deal with.

There’s also always the chance of a Roy Moore Doug Jones scenario, which considering the quality of the Republican Party today, is not that far fetched a situation.

I love how many fronts the Repubs will be struggling to defend for '22…and that’s after what should be a fascinatingly contentious primary season.

Hasn’t been said yet in this thread, but Shelby was part of the notorious “let’s celebrate July 4th in Moscow” GOPTREASON delegation, along with Johnson and Kennedy. Wouldn’t be surprised if those other two motherfuckers ain’t looking for the parachute soon as well.

The Republican Party is going the way of the Whigs in the 1860’s, shattering into smaller and more extreme factions, too busy attacking each other over “Purity” issues to win anything until they become irrelevant.
