SCOTUS Slaps Down Lindsey Graham’s Bid To Evade Georgia Grand Jury

This has already happened, but Petrobras (Brazil’s oil company) paid a massive dividend this year.

Unfortunately Bolsonaro might try to use his rump army of truckers and other cult like supporters as well as parliament members to try to bollox up the incoming government.

What’s nice is the fascists are mostly losing now.

Boris = gone
Bolsonaro = gone
Trump = gone
Putin = all but gone

Except for Italy.

This is good. but if Roberts and his crew think this makes up for letting Trump slide in hopes of Republicans taking back the house they are dead wrong.

It’s might be probable cause but it is not good trial evidence without some sort of corroboration from other witnesses. What is irksome is that, so far, Graham has avoided being a target of these investigations (as far as we know) (although if he is not a legally acknowledge target of a criminal investigation, that might be because of the deference to the 5th Amendment being a bit stronger in his favor if he were an official target).

It’s not being dismissed by the investigation. Raffensperger testified for five hours to the Fulton County special grand jury last June.

yep. that’s my thinking as well - lindsey will sit in the chair and claim he doesn’t have to answer questions because he was engaged in a legitimate legislative activity and setting off another protracted argument in courts about that.

Shorter SCOTUS: If you want to be a weasel, we prefer you do it by taking the fifth - which gives you a constitutional right to be a weasel - rather than by coming crying to us.

Who gets to approve/deny Graham’s invocation of speech and debate during the hearing? The judge? or does every damned thing need to go to some sort of appeals process?

Aw, the Belle of the Bawl is going to have to sing in public.

Fani is resisting calling him a target until they get his testimony. After that, anything can happen.

Watch for Lin-seed to ask AGAIN whether or not he’s a target, before he testifies.

The way I read it, Graham is only being subpoenaed as a witness instead of a target because Fulton County DA Fani Willis has her laser focus on Trump, the instigator of the election fraud attempt. Not the minions. It’s going to be hard enough to nail Trump without dragging a sitting US Senator into a criminal conspiracy along with him, even though he’s probably guilty of that.

We all THOUGHT we knew what Trump thought of taking the 5th. Until he had to save his ass.

The Fulton County judge presiding over the special grand jury. Lindz can try to mandamus his way up to the GA appellate courts, but that’s likely to be denied pretty quickly. And then he’s back to SCOTUS, which does not seem eager to go to bat for him. So it might take a couple months, but eventually he’s probably going to have to abide by the rulings of the Fulton County judge.
