Don’t worry. Once they get in the corrupted court will uphold not counting undocumented people. Oh and they will gladly block anything Joe tries to do.
In return, Joe should tell the corrupted court that he will follow the precedent Trump set and ignore any decision they issue.

We Democrats are voting. In record numbers too. However, we need a lot more Democrats here to combat the incessant fear mongering ads painting both Ossof and Warnock as extremely radical leftist socialists communists. There are even more anti Warnock ads than anti Ossof. I think we all know what that tells us. It is to be hoped that a clear majority of the newly registered 18 year olds will skew Democratic. We shall see.

Republicans want to come up with an excuse not to count all the non-white people here, their first step is to cut out the undocumented immigrants. The part where the Constitution says to count all the “persons” is irrelevant to Republicans, they don’t consider the undocumented as real persons.

One wonders why the SCOTUS didn’t just punt given that a new gov’t is taking over in just over 30 days.
What SCOTUS has done here is to give a window of opportunity to bad faith actors to attempt to implement a disruptive change that the new gov’t will seek to immediately undo. Why did the court not consider this? Why was it so important to issue this decision now? Seems like an intentional poison pill.

Commerce was never waiting for SC to overturn the lower court ruling. They never stopped working on the competing enumerations that include and exclude the presumed headcount of undocumented aliens.

My view is the policy isn’t in effect. It won’t be implemented by the Biden Administration. So it’s moot, right?

Isn’t this the same issue on which the Court majority, led by a flip-flopping Roberts, earlier rebuked Ross & Co. by saying, in essence, “you’ve been way too obvious for us to get away with ruling in your favor; give us better, more subtle pretexts for this citizenship question”?
Sounds like a mix of “Your ball, Wilbur, if you think there’s time to pull it off,” “Father Joe, please take this cup from me,” and “No sudden moves until after Jan 5.”

It means the SCOTUS also accepts Trump lost and they are not going to wade into a controversial program likely to be immediately reversed in January.
However, they want to leave the door open for a future Republican President to try to make this change again (but more competently).

It should be plain as day that the language of the Constitution calls for a decennial count of all “Persons” in the country. What part says those here without documentation are not people? We already got rid of the Three-Fifths Compromise.
