Schumer: ‘We’ll See What Happens’ After Menendez Addresses Dem Caucus Thursday

By doing so, he has demonstrated to every other Senator that they won’t be thrown under the bus easy…

That is leadership. It’s nor always pretty. Or fun…

Chuck is dutifully eating the crap sandwich for his caucus.

Maddow’s book on Agnew was pretty good. I assume this is just a recitation of her book?

I have no doubt that Menendez is innocent according to the McDonough standard. Which is of course why McDonough was such an abomination. Thomas and Alito’s votes on that case were so tainted that it should go down in history alongside Lochner Plessy and Dred Scott.

FARA violations, sure, they can definitely prove that.

So Menendez may not be gone, but Fetterman’s Hoodia is…

The bipartisan bill from Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney requires that members abide by a real dress code – rather than an unwritten custom – when on the Senate floor, that includes a coat, tie, and slacks for men.

Two things…

  1. What about Kyrsten Sinema? Is she still allowed to dress like…well, like she dresses?

  2. I would love for John Fetterman to dress like Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny.

But that Menendez was charged at all this time is something of a minor miracle, considering a 2016 Supreme Court ruling that raised the bar for what counts as corruption for elected officials. If the allegations in Friday’s indictment are true, though, Menendez managed to clear that bar in a feat of extreme disregard for his role as a public servant.

What are the consequences/implications for budget votes if he’s gone? How quickly, once the governor appoints a replacement, can they be sworn in and be up and running? Any scuttlebutt about potential I suspect those things are weighing heavily on Schumer for what happens next.

He doesn’t want him resigning, or being booted out and be one vote further away (yes, I know Manchin and Synema)

“If Senator Menendez refuses to resign, I encourage the Senate Ethics Committee to open an investigation into this, separate from the ongoing criminal case,” Murray said in a Wednesday statement.

She should replace that worm Schumer.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: yes!!!

And this makes perfect sense, as it is simply a matter of time before Sinema shows up in this outfit

Schumer and the Democratic Senators and the pragmatic progressives among us know the terrain here is difficult. Let us step carefully along this part of the mountain.

How cynical. And, sadly, right on.
