Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Saturday said that the Senate will grant a request from one of former President Trump’s attorneys to hit pause on the impeachment trial during the Jewish Sabbath.
Let them drag it on. They seem to fear the optics of tying [Individual-1]'s actions to the siege. I am sure this will be helpful. (sarcastically said on my part)
This will provide a media fest timeout for pundits to pundify during the break. And also, too, the real point of allowing the defense time to regroup and try new strategy.
Maybe, but I think it’s at least a coherent request. One does not have to accede – but Schumer did, maybe because it’s just easier than trying to explain a refusal.
As a trained medical researcher and teacher of medical students (I’m retired these days). I balk at the use of the word “cure”. Treatment? Sure, you bet’cha… but cure? No. In this case the treatment tamps down the cytokine storm which is really a good thing. But it doesn’t rid the patient of the virus. The immune reaction of the patient may or may not be successful in that. And this study was on 30 people. But I say… go for it as a treatment. This is really good news if it pans out in a bigger study.
I’m flashing back to Jared blowing off Shabbat to help plan seating Clinton’s accusers next to Chelsea at the Vegas debate in response to pussygate, and I wonder.
