President Trump’s decision to strong-arm Ukraine into becoming a domestic political ally for the 2020 election is merely the latest example of a pattern of soliciting foreign help, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) argued in his opening statement in the Senate impeachment trial on Wednesday.
Schiff for president.
He’ll either succeed Feinstein when she retires, or he’ll be Speaker after Pelosi retires.
He would excel at either job.
Schiff was masterful in every way. Bravo!
Yes, we need someone articulate like this and not afraid to bring the heat. Although, I hope he replaces Feinstein - Pelosi is doing an amazing job right now.
Nancy is rising 80, and may choose to retire after her next term.
But I think she’s the most consequential Speaker of the last century.
He is of one fine mind and the ability to speak persuasively.
He carries the germ of greatness.

I really hope I don’t hear anyone complaining that the Democrats did this all wrong, didn’t prepare, didn’t fight hard enough, didn’t put on a strong case, weren’t effective enough, yada, yada, yada.
Because I would have to take strong exception to such a comment.

He is doing a masterful job of presenting the facts in a clear, articulate way that is simply overwhelming in its persuasiveness. Although we all know the outcome here, John Roberts is in a very tight spot. Schiff is the star, he’s leading the whole trial, and they all know it.
