Late Thursday, House impeachment manager Adam Schiff (D-CA) made a powerful case for President Donald Trump’s removal in the managers’ final presentation of the night in the Senate impeachment trial.
GOP to Schiff: Why on earth do you think we care about truth? … you want a piece of truth? … here’s a morsel … all we care about is the power of total control … and we embrace the delusion that out of the total destruction of the current governmental system will emerge an operating process that we & our closly aligned supporters will control in totality… with complete ability to brutally crush any and all opposition.
He’ll be the next Speaker after Pelosi puts down the gavel.
I thought he might jump into the election fray this year (and glad he didn’t), but I strongly suspect he did the calculus and determined, he wants to stay in the House.
“If right doesn’t matter, we’re lost,” the Schiff said. “If truth doesn’t matter, we’re lost.”
Hopefully this entire process from GOP politicians actions and hypocrisy, to the media reporting, to the voter polls will finally wake liberals and Dems up to the gawd damn reality that we have a very large chunk of our politicians, media and citizens that are just acting in bad faith.
We may not get the result we want, but the presentation by Schiff and others has been brilliant. This whole exercise is a textbook worthy example of how to present a case, clear and precise. The GOP can ignore the facts, but they lose in the end.
To use a football analogy, Schiff has centered the ball to us. It’s up to us to score…
And, make no mistake:
(1) Any person who is not focused in on getting rid of Trump is an enemy of this Republic
(2) Cynicism, Apathy and Negativism are not what is needed right now, We need to avoid giving credence to people who seem to delight in THAT particular trio of attitudes
