The Puppy ‘Princess’ Of Trumpworld
“The book is being published by Brave Books, a publisher that has teamed up with right-wing influencers and political figures to make children’s books with conservative messages.”
Don’t underestimate the sheer scope of the neo-fascist counterculture. Like the allied and overlapping Christian fundamentalist counterculture, it offers an immersive psychological alternate reality to mainstream life. They already have their Hitler Youth wing with Turning Point USA, and now they’re looking to brainwash toddlers. They apparently are preparing for American kids to be brought up in a North Korean environment of propaganda saturation from the time they learn to speak.

It’s a strange headline, but the situation is quite sad.

Many monkey wrenches. Not only the long list of pre-election limitations )place and manner) but the post-election process of counting and certification, and done in real time so there’s precious little that can be done to unwind skulldugery before the count is over. There will be lots of thumbs on the scales with little recourse.

Sufficient evidence appears to exist, on the face of it, to support a case.

I don’t think these problems will be resolved until we have a national “right to vote” amendment, which also nationalizes the presidential election and eliminates the EC. Not in my lifetime, however, so we’ll just continue to shamble along in a suppressed kind of way.

The most annoying thing about the post is that he’s claiming to support DeSantis’ political stunt because he’s a member of “SenateAgDems,” implying that there is a real threat of lab-grown meat replacing current meat production.
That’s bullshit. If he’s a member of an Ag coalition in Congress, he should educate himself about whether this is a real threat or not, and it isn’t. Right now it’s just a scam to lure investors. The tech is nowhere near the point where it can be scaled up to take business away from farmers and ranchers. Not for many years yet. He’s buying into a DeSantis political stunt out of ignorance. Do better, Fetterman.

I seem to recall a point about eating a monthly hamburger. It was in the context of showing scale, with which Americans have a problem.
For example, if everyone drove their car only one mile in a month, we’d all still die from CO2. (“Now Libs want us to sleep at work.”)

Sounds pretty woke…and wait a second, what about the GQP war on furries?
Here’s a furry friend

The only experience I have voting wise here in MO is what happens in St. Louis County. And how we vote here in the county is different than how other counties vote. We have county wide voting, meaning I’m not tied to one voting place. And so if the power of how voters vote is going back to state control at the legislative level then the reporting coverage is greater than by county.
As an example of the county’s control over when and how to vote back in 2020, during the pandemic, St. Louis County expanded “early voting”. Before you could vote early, but only at one place, but you had to have an excuse. This was changed to no excuse. And you know what? They never rescinded that “exception because of the pandemic”.
I can see if the total power and control of how one votes and where one can vote is handed to a state legislature, controlled by Republicans in my case, then changes made to the ease of how we vote in STLC could be wiped out.

Perhaps we shouldn’t eat meat at all, period, stop eating fish and perhaps just keep dairy cattle and chickens for milk and eggs only.

Here is a long but very good background article on the progress towards “cultivated meat.” Free gifted link.

All true. I’m glad that voting is set up like that where you live.
The laws NC, GA, etc. are setting up allow the legislature to name the members of the County Election Boards, set up the rules for counting ballots, and things like minimum hours and days of operation. Once the county election boards are named by the Republican legislature, they can be sure that the rules and procedures voted into practice at the local level reflect their imperatives.
Purging Dems from election oversight at the local level eliminates a lot of the protections from voter suppression and discriminatory implementation in lots of small communities. Those things will fly under the radar unless individuals flag them and then they’ll only get addressed (maybe) one district or county at a time.

The Noem puppy story is a gift that keeps on giving.
So sorry for poor little Cricket. And the goat. Hopefully we can avoid that lady who saves herself from having to work through difficulties by taking the problem out and shooting it.

Yes I can see that. But what I guess I’m imperfectly pointing out is that if a state, a state controlled by Republicans, decides that the when, where, and how someone votes in that state is controlled exclusively by the state legislature then the coverage of those changes is/can be exposed by more easily by the press.

Maybe the plastic surgeon offers a quantity discount to MAGAts?

I think when voting is subject the when, how, and the process of counting votes is better left to the county than the rules made by the legislature. Because the methods of the when, how, and counting is usually determined by population within the county. If the legislature imposes that all counties use the same methods then that’s not going to work smoothly.
But that’s what they really want, no?
