Both Lamb and Kenyatta brought up Fetterman’s shotgun incident yesterday. If Fetterman wins the primary, whoever the Republican candidate is (I hope it’s not Oz. I hope. I hope. I hope.), they’re going to be vicious.
I still don’t know who I’m voting for in the primary. I like all three for different reasons. I do think that Lamb will be the most difficult for the Republican to run against.

I’m with you on that - as long as it can be somehow proven that diet/lack of exercise is the absolutely reason, which is probably pretty hard to prove.

All morning I’ve been finishing up the arrangement and production of my sixth musical homage to the Ukraine and its people and now I read the last lines of that article and I weep. Here I am in the peaceful democracy of my country with luxury of creating sound to fill the silence. Musicians greater then myself are in uniform playing in shelters to find a moment of solace within the din of war.

That’s already been done. Long term obesity has everything to do with Type 2 Diabetes, and health insurance costs do go up substantially for people with BMIs above 30.

THIS! When you have hungry children and little money, starches, cereals and grains, and sugar and salt keep the little stomachs from rumbling. I know this, because I was one of those kids – the youngest of 5. Toward the end of the month, sometimes the only thing we had for supper was creamed corn with bacon grease, or toasted bread with brown sugar. My mom could stretch a box of jello pudding that serves 4 to feed 7 by putting a graham cracker in the bottom of a bowl and putting a tablespoon or 2 of pudding on top.
Our boom-town agricultural technology (now I call it Big Farma) is partly responsible for major dietary problems. All the high gluten grains and high yeast breads and corn fructose have caused many problems. Thank Norman Borlaug and his Green Revolution (he won a Nobel Peace Prize for it!) fed the world, but ruined food at the same time.

TBH, at this late date, I don’t think the prosecutions, though deserved and legit, will have any influence on the elections. I can see the hearings generate a huge shrug among voters, whether they watch the hearings or not.
