that is W,VA. in a nut shell…
If Dems don’t loudly explain why they’re not getting things done, the narrative quickly changes to Dem inaction generally. Pick your poison.
I was speaking of 2016. I grew up in the Midwest and still have strong connections with family and politically active (some elected officials) in both states. They were angered and appalled at Hillary’s campaign. I believe Sanders support among white working class is well documented. And for the reasons I stated.
Agreed. I made a similar comment the other day. I wish it would stop.
I think it was fine. It’s just become a running joke lately, which can be one of the pleasures of a regular watering hole (virtual in this case).
Is Manchin’s daughter still a Big Pharma bigwig? He’s not going to let principle cost his family one red cent.
As I’ve said before, time to investigate Manchin and his daughter for fraud, insider trading and bribes.
You presume those were ever on the table in the first place. I think you will find Manchin will find some contrived reason why he can’t support literally helping American’s get cheaper prescriptions and insurance right now.
Bernie and Manchin, what a pair.
One runs as an independent and (usually) votes as a Democrat. The other runs as a Democrat but doesn’t vote as one much of the time (when it matters most.)
Indeed, a fair number of white working class/rural voters do want to blow up government. Bernie was that Dem primary candidate in 2016. In 2008, it was Obama who benefited from the sentiment. We know where a lot of those voters went in the 2016 general and 2020 too.
And if Manchin now refuses to pass those measures will it a) show Manchin to be the small-minded saboteur he is or that b) Sanders is too mean?
I’m going with a).
Manchin is too old and crusty for his skin to be so unbelievably thin.
Yes, it is. He’s not afraid of fighting and he’s got a lot of respect behind him.
not even a picture?
Manchin as the immovable object and destructor of watered down bipartisan and presidential policy items.Stands out in crowd of feckless do nothing Senators that are so obviously taking their role as grifters very seriously.
All, kissing his ASS has gotten- is a polite “No” from Manshit; so telling him to go Fruk himself, won’t be rocking anyone’s Yacht.
Manchin votes with Democrats 90% of the time.
He’s also defending Biden, which I deeply appreciate. “Sabotaging the president’s agenda” makes things pretty clear, and today there is coverage of Sanders’ diatribe all over the place.
That’s all good and well until you analyze what’s at stake in the 10% he strays.
