A co-chair of Bernie Sanders’ (D-VT) presidential campaign denies that the Vermont senator intended to “trash” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) with a campaign script shared with volunteers.

Bernie: all identity politics, all the time.
She even seemed to catch herself in the middle of it. “Well, you know, voters should identify only with candidates who have support from people who are like them and should resent candidates who have supporters whose identities are not like their own.” That’s what it was all about…not only an attempt to “call out” Warren supporters for being only rich, affluent, educated people, but also branding her as such too, so that people who are not would be put off by her and her supporters for who they are…“others”…not what her policy positions are.
